question about removing border for select tag

54 New Member
my question is about removing the borders that are displayed by a select tag.

presently i have a select tag that displays 8 values to which i have given a size of 5. code for this is =
<select name="firstsele ct" size="5" class="select" style="width:21 9px;">
<option> </option>
</select>

the table in which this select tag is placed is as follows =
<TABLE style="BORDER-RIGHT: 1px solid; BORDER-TOP: 0px; BORDER-LEFT: 1px solid; BORDER-BOTTOM: 1px solid" cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=220 border=0>

i need the border of the select tag = on the top, bottom, left and right to be removed so that it looks nice and clear.

please provide the code in css which will give this effect.

thanks

This CSS does not work in MSIE unfortunately.

Does anyone know of another solution?

Of course, this is not an html board, but some of you may be able to answer this question. Copy and past the html below into a text file so you can open it in IE and see what I mean: --------------------------------BEGIN--------------------------------------- -- <html> <head> </head>

Hi, guys, As an Internet developer for many years, I thought I knew HTML... until I came across this: The following two tables look different in IE 6.0. I've pinpointed the cause -- the hard return between the <img> tag and the </td> tag. I thought hard returns don't make a differnt unless in <pre> tags, but apparently I was wrong.

I have a 3-part form that I am having trouble with. First part is to select the user group and the week and year that I want to submit results for, this calls the elements that I want to update. The second part is to enter the results and submit them to a MySQL table called results the final part echoes the results. The issue is that my form writes the elements that I called up to the this table before I enter the results and click...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
