spec'ing type style, size & color
When using html and linking to a text file to be displayed, as below,
does anyone know how the type style, colors & size can be specified?

If it's a text file, served as text, I don't believe you can. If it's
an HTML file wrapped with <pre... </prethen of course you can
style it.
Whether it's a good idea to do that is another matter.

That link is 404, so I can't tell what you are really trying to do.
However, I know that HTML formatting for a non-HTML TXT file really does
not exist. The display will be formatted according to how the user has
configured his or her browser.

Hi all
Are there any good solutions to aligning form field names and input boxes
without resorting to tables? I am struggling to do this nicely at the
moment.
Thanks

Hi folks,
I found this in some pages:
<td style="border-bottom: 1px solid #000000; border-left: 1px solid
#000000; background-color:#4080A0;font-weight: bold; color: #000000;"
class="myclass">
I've never seen both style and class used in the same element. Is the
common? Which wins? What happens?

I am implementing a comprehensive image-map generator utility, so have been
studying W3C HTML 4.01 Specification
(http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/struct/objects.html#h-13.6) on image maps (among
other things).
I note the document specifies that block level content can be included
within a <map>. Testing this in order to discover why one might wish to do
this, I find the block level content is rendered in page flow order anyway,
and not...

Hi,
I'm programming some PHP discussion board that is supposed to appear
inside
the content area of a proprietary CMS. As I need some more styles than the
standard stylesheet provides, I just added a <style> tag inside my HTML
code. It works fine in all the browsers I tested, but it seems to be more
of
a hack than a valid solution.

I'm writing a "tabbed folder" nav bar. Site standards are graphical
prettiness, CSS throughout, valid code, but accesibility is ignored
where it conflicts with prettiness.
The particular issue here is that the graphic designer wants a pretty
(non-webbable) font on the shaded nav tabs, so I'm reduced to using
bitmaps. To make the 4-way rollovers ("current" and "hover" states)
work I'm using the standard "rollerblind" technique with a...

Hi;
If there are no namespaces this works fine for me. But if the xml has
namespaces, then I get either no node back or an exception.
Here is the sample xml:

xmlns:sns="http://www.test.org/sub"
xmlns:mns="http://www.test.org/mini">

Take a look at this memcpy() definition.
Is there a good reason the void pointer
args are cast to byte just to assign their
addresses to byte pointers?
/*from Steve Maguire's 'Writing Soild Code'*/
void *memcpy(void *pvTo,void *pvFrom,size_t size)

Using the "volatile" keyword, creates a problem if I intend to use any of
the interlocked APIs. The compiler generates an error if I use the following
line, for example:
Interlocked.Increment(ref count);
The error says that a volatile field cannot be used as ref or out, but if I
don't use the volatile field, the value may be cached away in some method
that is just reading the field.

All,
I don't know why I always get stuck on the stupid questions...
This is pretty straight forward... I want to change the cursor to the hand on a mouse event. This works just fine, if I use other cursors, but for some reason I can't get the cursor:hand to work in Firefox???
<div class="showHideDiv" onmouseover="this.style.cursor='hand'" onclick="showHideDiv('Price')">
Price
</div>
Thanks in advance. - CES

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
