Firefox and IE Issue

4 New Member
Hi All,

Please check the code below as am having trouble viewing the same design in Firefox and IE7. It works fine in IE6 but gets all quirky in IE7 and FF.

The footer stays at the bottom of the viewport but then the text scrolls behind it in IE7 and FF. I need it to be at the bottom of the content at all times. Please help. Currently the styles are in the same htm file but will later be and external CSS. The design is center aligned on the browser and hence some divs have relative positioning. Here is the code:

Hi,

From how I understand your question you are wanting to have the footer at the end of the content at all times, not at the bottom of the window.

If that is the case then the issue is the fixed position of the footer div. IE7 and Firefox have the correct implementation of position fixed which is that the element is positioned in a fixed position relative to the viewport, not the document and that the element remains fixed in that position and does not move when the document is scrolled.

Also you have the style tag is self closing so the code is not valid, the opening style code should be:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1.  <style type="text/css">

I believe this is a Firefox bug but I was hoping someone found a workaround. I have implemented drag and drop functionality, but if I try to drag an element from a div that happens to have a div with an "overflow: auto" it seems to lose the onmouseover event for my target. Anyone come across this issue and found a resolution? Please advise. Here is a link to my code.

I've made tooltips work in Firefox*, but tooltip doesn't appear at the specified location until the SECOND time that the user passes the mouse over the location with the mouseover event. What I want is for the user to be able to put the mouse over text that gives a year (e.g., "(1932)", "(1946)" and "(1923)") and see the tooltip to the right and slightly beneath the year. (For the record -- this needn't concern the debugging effort --...

I can't seem to remove some extra margin/padding from my design on this site: http://www.kyowa-usa.com/ IE displays it properly (no space between the menus and other elements and the outer border), but in Firefox I always end up with some space. I have tried several box model fixes (to no avail), and I'm no longer sure that's what's going on.

Does anyone have any other solutions to the Firefox rendering problems with ASP.NET? I've tried the <browsercaps> web.config trick. It didn't work. Am I overlooking something else? Thanks!

I have a ASP .Net page that allows moving around items on the page through javascript. This page works fine in IE. In FireFox however, I have found that if the page is using XHTML 1.0 Transitional as the doctype, you cannot set the style.left and style.top properties of image or div tags. If you remove the doctype from the page it works just fine, although I would rather not do this. You can work around this by setting the cssText...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
