z-index / overlapping <divs> and images

1 New Member
I am making a blog and as part of my template I am wanting to have my header and then another image on the side of that using the z-index: 2; to make it that layer about. so here is the css.

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. .splash {
  2.         z-index: 2;
  3.     width: 135px;
  4.     height: 386px;
  5.     margin: 0 auto;
  6.         position: relative;
  7.         left: 450px;
  8.         top: 0px;
  9.     background: url('images/splash1.png');
  10.
  11. }
and this is the code for the header. (its a wordpress blog btw.)

Hi, In the following code, everything looks fine on Explorer, but on Netscape there is a large white gap between the 'top' section and the 'bottom menu' section. I've set the style 'div img {display:block}' already to get rid on Netscape's problem with putting space around images, but it does nothing for this. Setting margins and padding to zero do nothing also. Here's the code:

I have the following divs: <div style="background-image: url(images/house_01.jpg); width: 249px; height: 346px;"></div> <div style="background-image: url(images/house_02.jpg); width: 251px; height: 346px;"></div> Since by default, the display property is set to block, they show up on different lines. Since each div contains half of a complete background image, I need then to show up side-by-side. The thing is, when I set the

Well, how can I describe this succinctly? I have a page with DIVs that us background images to produce a border effect. It works perfectly well, but I want to make up (for now) 3 different border/background effects. Rather than duplicate the entire chunk of CSS 3 times, I thought "Gee, I should only have to specify the 3 backgrounds (all the other placement directives would be identical). However I must not be correctly specifying the...

Greetings, Here is my problem: The following code shows a div with two small nested divs (images with a title), then the div is closed. Another one opens and a "random text" is displayed. <div style="width: 500px;"> <div style="float: left; padding: 20px;"> Image Title 1<br/> <img src="test.jpg"/> </div> <div style="float: left; padding: 20px;">

How do I get these 2 divs to be side by side ? I have been trying to apply the float logic to a couple of divs on the same screen, but without success. There is a main div that holds two sub-divs The LHS sub-div ( class= listerTop) is a listing and the RHS sub-div i( class=ad_big_box ) is a set of images.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
