1. I am looking which HTML CODE is AS GENERAL AS POSSIBLE (i.e. independant of platform and browser).
2. To be more explicit :
2.a) I am writing HTML code which I would like to run on ALL possible platforms (PC, Mac, UNIX, …) and browsers (Safari, IE, Netscape, …) or at least as many as possible.
2.b) I use as well hyphens (in names with hyphens for hyphenation, etc.) as en-dashes - for a comment within a text like this one - and also em-dashes for dialogues like the next one :

2.c) So I am wondering which of the 3 codes (see #3) is most suited to run on AS MANY platforms and browsers. I.e. to have a maximum chance my code will display correctly whatever the machine or browser used.

3.a) & # 8 2 1 1 ;
3.b) & # 1 5 0 ;
3.c) & n d a s h ;
Which one sould I use?

As long as the special character code is written correctly they should all be universal (3a, 3b, and 3c). The big problem in the past which still haunts some out-dated browsers is that incorrectly spelled character codes MIGHT be interpreted (for example """ without the closing semicolon is still interpreted in some browsers). I don't know of another case where there is a problem.

Greetings,
I just installed ASP and enabled the Web Server Extensions and still
cannot get any ASP code to execute.
I added some html code to test and all html code is executed fine, but
once the asp section is reached, blank is displayed below the html
code. I then scaled back and created a Hello World with asp code with
still no results. I turned every one on that server, and am running
out of ideas.

I'm working on this script that grabs a web page from a foreign site, searches it for specific information, and grabs web pages from links on the original page. Once I had it working, I tried it out on the foreign site. However, the information I got back was nonsensical. I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
