Opening Windows Explorer Using a Link

1 New Member
If I could assume that the user will be using MS internet explorer, could I create a link in my HTML to invoke an instance of Windows Explorer through a link? For instance, I know that each of my users will have a folder C:/Folder1 on their computer. I want to create a link on my site that will open Windows Explorer at C:/Folder1.

Could this be done so it would also work in Firefox?

Thanks in advance.

Okay this is kind of an update/revision of what I posted before. My problem was that when I click on a picture that is supposed to open in a new window it never does. I tried downloading a newer version of Explorer (IE6) but that did not help. I turned my pop-up software OFF so that would not interfere. When I click on the picture the bottom left of my screen has the little explorer icon and says javascript: abrir ventana('19710') the...

Hello, I am trying to open a window containing an image and I would like the image to be flush against the window -- i.e. have no padding or border. Can I make this happen with a single call to a window.open function? I would prefer not to create a separate HTML page. So far all I have is the basic var cwin = window.open('images/KJV-THANKS.gif', 'Thanks', 'width=243,height=420,'); cwin.focus();

Hi all, I have a directory full of images (most over 2MB in size) I was to show each image as a thumbnail on a form, however in order to create a thumbnail I have to open the complete image then scale it down. This is quite slow, since there is a lot of file IO going on, what I want to be able to do is open the image in the scaled down size so that I miss out the step of opening the file then dowsizing it. I have not been able to find...

I keep getting the same warning from OneCare, one is for Adware, the other is for a trojan, I clean both, but almost immediatly, I get the same warning? My Windows Defender is also shut down, not by me as I have no idea how to do this(or to turn it back on), but am still...

When opening a PDF over SSL running on IIS 5.1 (Windows XP Professional, W2K Windows 2000, or Windows Server 2003), you may receive the following problem with Internet Explorer. First, instead of opening the PDF in Acrobat Reader, IE asks you, "Do you want to open or save this file?". If you click "Open", then you receive the error, "Internet Explorer cannot download file.pdf from servername. Internet Explorer was not able to open this...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
