Drop Down list in a form is breaking layout of the page in FireFox.
Here is the page in question: http://www.redchip.com/visibility/RC...equestinfo.asp
The layout is simply two floating div's in a container div.
Everything looks fine before I put the dropdown list in the form, but
once it is in,
the right div gets pushed down as if the left div has clear:right, or
is too big to fit in the containing div.
I tried this page in Safari, and IE7, and they all look fine, but not
in Firefox.
Please help! Thank you. 1 2470

I thought I replied to this one.
It is a bug in Firefox, I'm fairly certain.
It can be worked around by moving rightArea up before mainArea in the
content and making it float: right. Then mainArea can be float: left, or
float: none (the default). This thread has been closed and replies have been disabled. Please start a new discussion. Similar topics |

I have an javascript made menu and some forms with the dropdown
element. When the menu opens and scrolls down the drop down is
displeyed over the menu and obscures the menu choices. I have this
problem only in IE, in firefox it works ok.
Is there a solution to this problem? I tried to hide the drop down when
the menu opens but sometimes the menu covers only a small part of the
drop down, but enough to obscure the menu choice.
I would...

Is it possible to link one drop-down box to another? For example, if a
name is chosen from a drop-down list, can another drop-down list then
automatically display the person's office as a result of the choice
made in the first drop-down list? If so, how can that be done? I am
working with 'Teach Yourself Microsoft Access' and I didn't see it
discussed in that book (if it's even possible to do). Or would I just
have to create linked tables...

I am trying to figure out what is the minimal simplest CSS I can
have to accomplish a row of tabs, with one or more tabs having a
drop-down menu when you hover over it -- AND the whole tab+menu
markup must consist of only nested unordered lists.
I don't care if the hover-dropdown part fails to works in IE -- if
not, the tabs are still clickable links that load a page having the
submenu choices on it anyway. I *do* care that the tabs...

Hi,
As I do not have IE7 on my computer, I was wondering if there is a
fault in my CSS Menu when using IE7.
Please can someone look at my site - http://www.worldofmonopoly.co.uk
and tell me if it works, and if it does not, tell me why it does not
work.
Thanks.

Here is the link in question:
http://www.redchip.com/testing.asp
It is simply styled with floating divs.
Two floating divs are in a container, and they look fine, until I
insert dropdown menu in the left div, then the right div gets pushed
down as if the left div is too big or has clear:right applied to it.

Hello,
Contrary to what my screen name indicates, i'm actually quite new to SQL.
Having said that, I'll get right into my problem.
I'm trying to query an mssql database to return to the value that the user inputs through a drop-down menu in the databases GUI front-end (bugzilla actually). For example, a product is selected in a drop-down menu, and, depending on the product chosen, a second drop-down menu becomes active, containing a list...

I am trying to incorporate a CSS drop-down menu into a site (suckerfish menu). The menu gets lost behind the content below it, but only on one of the drop downs (News). The error occurs on all of the browsers I have tested it on (IE6, IE7, Firefox, Opera and Safari). It is probably something simple, but I can't find it!
Here is the CSS (using external style sheets):
style-temp.css (Main style sheet for the site):

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
