how do I stream content from my webpage/server?

1 New Member
I have uploaded a few music files to my server and have implented the following code.

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. <object data="http://www.higherorder.co.uk/radio/red.m3u" type="application/x-mplayer2" width="320" height="43">
when you navigate to page with the code it plays from the begining. Is it possible to have the code or whatever playing live on a server so that when people visit my site the content streams live?

the end result i'm after is to be able to stream live. if it means moving from html i'm relatively happy to do so.

your question is not an HTML or CSS question. I think you have to use a server that is setup to stream content using a streaming content protocol like RTSP (instead of HTTP which serves up webpages). Ask your current host if they support streaming content.

or if you know Flash you can do it that way.

I would like to know if there is a way (javascript) to be able to save the content of the CHL Statistics WebPage on our Server with Javascript, in a txt file. If it possible, then I would take the content of that page. Execute another script that will take this information an place it in our database on our server. By doing this, our Team WebSite would be

Hello, I have a web site that has an audio file on it that I make available for download. Right now I'm using the "right-click/save-as" approach. This is because left-clicking the link to the audio file initiates client-side streaming/playing of the audio file. Is there a way with Javascript to make a left-click trigger a download of the file instead? BTW, I don't want to have convert the mp3 file to winzip to make this happen,...

I am trying to save a file dynamically created in a webpage. I get the following headers, but cannot figure out how to save the attachment. I am basically trying to replicate what internet explorer would do in this case. The headers I am getting are: Headers {Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="dynamic_file.mdb" Connection: close Cache-Control: private Content-Type: application/octet-stream

Hi, I have some ASP code to stream a binary file. It works well and looks something like the original ASP code shown below. I'm experimenting in creating ZIP files on the fly and am trying to come up with good ways of streaming binary files using ASP.NET, but I'm having performance issue. The new ASP.NET code is also shown below. The performance of this is *terrible*. I get less than 200 KB/s across a LAN. The original code gives a...

Hi all, The following code was suggested by one of the users in this newsgroup when a pdf file was requested by a user from an asp page. I used the similar code in my page and the very interesting thing is when the pdf is displayed on the fly, the whole page is a gibberish code in stead of a normal pdf file. But it displays fine if I just use a link to a file on the page. Can you tell me what's the possible reason will cause this problem?...

I've built an application that scrapes JPG images of webpages and PDF instances of those webpages automatically from an RSS feed. References to the scraped resources are persisted to our database. I've also built an administrative interface that allows someone to scroll through a datalist of the JPG images of the page and to delete the unwanted items. The JPG previews of the webpage are rendered in several sizes: iconic, mid-sized 600px...

Hi! I want to use ASP to download big files using ADODB.STREAM. It works very fine with files smaller than 80 MB. On the Webserver I can see that memory allocation and the process w3wp is running. After some time (more or less 2 minutes) I get a response timeout. Here is the code:

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
