achieve a nicer hover-effect for images

Dear Pros,

How can I achieve a nicer hover-effect for the image "tomasio.design "
on the bottom-right of my webpage? I am using the class ".footer
a:hover" for a CSS-based mouseover-effect but this causes an ugly
green block to the left of the image while hovering the mousepointer
over it. I just want to link that image to my index-page, without any
mouseover effect if possible. Any hints?

Plus I get an error message from the w3-validator that my file does
not validate against X-html transitional.Th is is the result I got:
http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=ht...%2FUs_p12.html
So I am doing something wrong here, but google could not provide me
with satisfying answers. Can you?

Third: Firefox does not display my<titletags. Does anybody know why?

An example of the site can be found here:
http://tomasio.at/referenzen/Us_p12.html

the linked stylesheet can be found there:
http://tomasio.at/stylesheet3.css

Thank you in advance for your help.

kind regards,

Below I'll paste my CSS and the HTML in question. But what's happening is, I'm trying to establish a link behavior for a class that's separate from the normal link class. I've established a: 's with no underline and then an underline for hover...but oddly, only ONE link will actually show the underline on hover. All the rest, even with the same HTML, won't pop up an underline. I just don't get it! If I could get any advice I'd really...

Hi All! Problem I began with: Netscape/Opera supports hover for different elements, IE only supports hover for <a> and I want to use hover for <td class="menu"> I then found a fix using some Javascript here: http://webpages.charter.net/mmmbeer/code/arbitrary-hover/ It works ok for IE now.

I know I could do it by restricting hover to a class of links (a:hover.actuallyalink) but is there a way that doesn't require me to change every link in every existing html document?

Is there a way to increase the amount of time a hyperlink title displays or show the desired text using javascript? <a title="This is the title text displayed on hover.">Displayed Text</a> The above HTML will display the title text when the mouse is hovered over the displayed text but it disappears quickly. There may be a better way to display text on hover using javascript but

Hi, My brain's a bit fried on this one. I'm using the li:hover method to display sub menus at http://dev.hyl.co.uk/guide4life/. All works swimmingly in FF, however IE7 loses the hover (and so the sub menu) when you mouse over items further down the sub menu list. This only seems to happen when the sub menu is over the text of a paragraph (try further down the page eg: "Confidentiality" - it works!?)

Hello Everybody on the internet seems to think this is a problem with IE but for me it works fine with IE, but the submenus do not appear with Firefox andOpera. The html is a simple list with sublists. The CSS looks like this:

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
