What kind of parameter? This may be a server side question. HTML is a markup language when you say pass parameters I'm lead to believe you are going to need some server side scripting.

I agree. This cannot be done using html/css. You must do this server side with a program.

This is the problem I am having: I have an index page where I obtain input from the user (for example their date of birth). This information is passed to Page2. Page2 has frames. Outside of the frames I can access the user's input. But within the frames I can't seem to be able to get the value. The date is stored in a global variable. Here are snippet's of code: ##Variables my ($BDAY, $path_info, $script_name);

Though I am a novice to MS SQL server (2000 I believe), I can do almost! everything I need. Maybe not efficiently, but usefully. However, I have a problem -- a complex query problem... I can create a parameter query in a stored procedure, but how do I use the result set of a parameter query in a select query (in the same or another sp)? In short, if a select query contains a result table that is generated as a parameter query, how do I...

I am attempting to block repeat downloads from a site. I need to have a landing page pass a referer to a secured page. I have tried a meta refresh redirect and several Javascript redirect strategies but none pass the referer. How can I force this since the referer property is read only? I have set up an .htaccess file so it will only let people into a secure directory if they come from an internal page on my site. This is done by...

I am having a little difficulty in passing a value from a page to another page. I am going to provide excerpts from the code. I think I am close. This is from Page1.ASP <% Set Conn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") DSNtest="DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)}; " DSNtest=dsntest & "DBQ=" & Server.MapPath("ncci.mdb") Conn.Open DSNtest

Hi, A newbie-question: I would like to send in a parameter with the starting link. I suppose I can do this with: 'http://www.mySite.com?param=xxx'. But I cannot figure out how to read that param-value. Putting '?param=xxx' after the websiteName does not indicate exactly which page is receiving the parameter.

I am very very new to jscript. What I want to do is set a variable in one frame of a page, and then reload another frame so that it uses the new variable. Is this possible? I want to have a thumbnail menu in the first frame, where clicking on the thumbnail sets a variable equal to the larger image's filename. The script would then reload the page in the larger frame, which uses the new variable value to load the larger version of the...

I have a web page with 2 frames. The left frame is running menu.aspx and the right frame is running images.aspx. When a selection is made in menu.aspx I call a method in images.aspx and pass a variable. The intention is that images.aspx will take the variable and load images into its frame (the right one) based on the variable passed. What actually happens is the method runs in the left frame and ruturns the error "Object reference not...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
