Hello all,
I've been building a simple site based on XML, XSL and CSS in order to
help me learn those technologies better. However, building a tableless
page is brand new to me so I've run into a large amount of problems.
The biggest seems that Firefox wants to put a line in between two of
my nested tags for some reason. However, this is only in the XML
version. To design the page, I first made an HTML version, then I
created a XSL file from that.
The HTML file: http://www.penguinwired.org/wuffi/test.html
The XML file (with styling): http://www.penguinwired.org/wuffi/index.xml
Finally the stylesheet: http://www.penguinwired.org/wuffi/layout.css
I would like to point out that my design is completely wrong in IE and
I haven't even started to debug that monster yet. Also, I know my
title bar needs a DIV of it's own.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

It doesn't in the HTML one because it's in Quirks Mode.
In the XML version, it's in the Standards Mode.
You can use wither of these:
img{vertical-align:bottom;}
or
img{display:blo ck;}

I am trying to make a bunched of left-floated divs that will be
contained in a larger div. the floated divs all contain a left-floated
img and text of varying sizes. If I don't set a height (or height:auto)
the larger div doesn't seem to see the nested divs, and they spill out
the bottom.
IE seems to automatically resize the larger div as long as I set the
height to 100% or any pixel size.
Mozilla doesn't recognize the percent, and...

I have a fairly simple page (attached below) with a couple of nested
divs. The issue is with the paddedtext class. If I have this set to
100% width the text hangs over the edge of the tableborder div in
Firefox. If I take the width off its fine in Firefox, but pushes
tableborder wider in IE6.
Could anyone give me a pointer on this.
Help Appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,
I am trying to get two divs to align at the bottom of another div. As
they are nested in this div, I expected them to be positioned at the bottom
of it, using the code below, but they are instead at the bottom of the body.
note - I do want them on top of each other, so the only problem is - where
is the bottom, and how can I make it the same as the bottom of the div.
Thanks, Martin (code below)

I am trying to hide and show certain parts of my code (which I have no
problem doing with DW). In VS 2003, it won't let you use <div
runat="server"to section of parts of my code in a table. This is during
compilation (build).
My code is:
<TABLE id="Table1" style="WIDTH: 864px; HEIGHT: 177px" cellSpacing="1"
cellPadding="1"
width="864" border="0">

I have a page with six or seven absolutely positioned DIV blocks ... they
all contain form elements .. text boxes, buttons, etc. and they all reside
within a containing "master" DIV. What I need to do is overlay all of the
DIVs with a "pop-up" DIV to get some additional input; so, on a button
click I am setting the visibility and the top/left coordinates to bring it
into position ... but what's happening is that three elements underneath...

Hi;
I'm working on a demo of using a timer on a web site that is made
visible by making a div visible.
My "PopIn Box" div is empty on the page. Before making it visible I
used javascript to get the content from another hidden div. I'm
doing it this way to make it easier to add in more messages by simply
putting more hidden divs on the page.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
