What are you trying to do? What does not work? Why are you depending on
a broken feature?
Where is the URL to a test case?
Putting "ddd" in a block element where it belongs may take care of your
problem.

As usual, posting a code snippet doesn't always tell the whole story.
You should post a URL.

I assume you refer to: http://www.quirksmode.org/css/clearing.html

Guessing from what you did post, 2 likely problems are:
1. No DOCTYPE, which triggers quirks mode so all bets are off.
2. No properties assigned to #container that cause IE to switch on its
proprietary "hasLayout" mode. The article even says this is required.
any hints for this fix?
Try reading more carefully?

After four+ years of using FrontPage in a limited capacity and having created over 600 pages on my sites, I've finally (at least for the most part) abandoned FP, to begin the process of converting those pages. There are some things (a result of this transition,) which I'm not too happy about :-( I'm using 1st Page 2000. Much of my content is created in Word and then cut and pasted from Word-to-NotePad-to-the page. Formerly with FP the...

Is anyone able to improve on this solution, and enable me to do without tables completely? http://www.cs.man.ac.uk/~daf/i-p-c-s.org/faq/gallery_old.php uses a table to lay out the thumbnails and their captions. This a) uses a table, b) wastes space when the window is large and c) overlaps the RHS div when the window is small. I use the same approach for

Give two double-typed variable X and Y. If (X==Y) is true, then how about the following results: (float(X) > float(Y))? (float(X) < float(Y))? (float(X) >= float(Y))? ( X > float(Y) )? ( X < float(Y) )?

I am trying to use a clear to get my bottom nav bar below the quote box on the right, but it isn't working. I would like the bottom edge of the quote box to "stick" to the footer nav bar but copy to be able to flow to the left of the quote box. For the bonus round I would like the right edge of the box to align with the right edge of the footer Could someone take a look at my code and help a newbie troubleshoot? my email is lroeder at...

Hello, this might sound stupid, but I got a really nice homepage template which unfortunately is a 3-Column Fixed Width CSS format. Now I don't have any content for the right column and would like the middle column just to use up that space instead. Any way this is possible? Thanks for your help, it is highly appreciated!

https://testbed.odysseyshipping.com/index.php This is driving me nuts. I've spent much time trying to style this page footer but because I cannot set widths using "display: inline". I've tried using floats. Now, for some reason, I can't get my borders to display properly as it seems to nudge to the right for each level of my footer (Firefox and IE). Below is the CSS code.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
