To have Firefox browser as NOT default

This browser seems to have so many problems. One more: I try to have
this Fire browser (version 2.0.0.1) as Not default, but so far, without
success. How can I have this browser as not default browser?. What are
the steps to do this?. Do I have to delete it from the hard drive and
then re-install it?. I'd like to have the chance to use other browsers,
when I want.
I have Mac OSX 10.4.8.

I have Mac OSX 10.4.8.

Open Firefox Preferences using the menu items Firefox, Preferences ( Command , is the shortcut).
Then in the General section of Firefox preferences unselect the Default browser check.

This should stop Firefox from checking whether it is the default browser.

Next, Open Safari, and open its Preferences. In the General tab, the
first item sets which browser should be the default. The selection will
includes all the browsers you have installed (I have Firefox, Opera and
Safari, and they all show up for selection).

In Mac OSX, setting the default browser is done from within Safari, not
from the System Preferences.
