Hello all,
My dotnet application configuration is that the client, Web server and
database all reside in 3 different computers. There is a function which can
browse a file and read in the contents. When it is run by Internet explorer
in the client machine, it can browse the file path in the client machine.
However, when the program attempt to read in the file content, there is run
time error. I suspect the program try to read the file in...

Is there a way to determine what a user's default email client is? I
read a post from 3 years ago that said no. I guess I'm hoping
something has come along since then.

<input type="file" size=50"> will produce the browse button
and browse text box.
The user can either select the file from browse button,
or enter a path in browse text box manually. My question is if
there are any client-side code to check if the path exists
in this case? My understanding is that no client-side
solution to this problem.
please advise. thanks!!

I love the .NET framwework. Compared to mfc this is a dream to work with.
I would love if the C# and maybe other languages too, somehow gives more
friendly messages when executed on a machine with not .NET framework
installed.
* Some unmanaged startup stub in the generated executable would be nice.
Maybe a stub that starts up a web site telling you that this application
cannot be run and that you need to install the .NET framework in...

So, my web app need to, from a server, send messages to a specific client
(browser), send messages for all clients, redirect a client to another page.
In other way, a client will be able to send messages to another client,
throw the server.
These are the first funcionalities.

Could whoever is responsible for the gateway that is grabbing
my postings off of Usenet and e-mailing them out please fix the
headers in the mail messages so that I don't get the bounce
messages?
While you're at it, might as well fix it for everybody else
too. ;)
Its a bit rude to send out mass e-mail messages with headers
faked up so that the bounce messages go to somebody else.

Hi,
I've been having trouble recently with sending messages to a client.
The client seems to be recieving the sever output (in the console).
This has completely done me in.
I have noticed it is to do with the buffer size.
For example:
send(client.clientsocket, "-h7-Endlist" , sizeof("-h7-Endlist"), 0); // is the previous send() call
send(client.clientsocket, client.clientname, sizeof(client.clientname), 0);

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
