IE problem with A:hover

3 New Member
Gidday guys,

I'm currently trying to write up a CSS navigation menu, and I'm having a little problem in IE 6.

Problem can be viewed at:

http://www.johnbayne.com/hiclone1/1.html

The problem is with the 2 menu items in the top-right corner. In Firefox, everything works fine. In IE6, "A:hover" works when the mouse is rolled over the menu item, but when the mouse rolls off, hover stays active.

Any ideas most appreciated.

Cheers,
- JB

You show the site, why don't you show the CSS in question?

Below I'll paste my CSS and the HTML in question. But what's happening is, I'm trying to establish a link behavior for a class that's separate from the normal link class. I've established a: 's with no underline and then an underline for hover...but oddly, only ONE link will actually show the underline on hover. All the rest, even with the same HTML, won't pop up an underline. I just don't get it! If I could get any advice I'd really...

I'm wrestling with CSS variations between Firefox and IE. I'm trying to create rollover buttons in a menu frame. It is working perfectly in Firefox but in IE only the first button is properly highlighted and linked. The second button, has only a partial "hit area" at the top of the image, although if you click the link, you can see the link border is properly place around the image. The rest of the buttons have no rolloever state or link...

Hi, I've created a nav bar using a background image for rollover effects. Everything works as I had hoped, however, for some reason it seems that an area of whitespace (the same size of the background image) is hyperlinked underneath the nav bar. I can't see any errors in the coding below. Any ideas what may be causing this? the page is at http://www.maguiresonline.co.uk/wosis/files/nickysnav.html the html.... <body...

I've got a problem with a web page I'm working on. I have 4 modules - one of them has 2 tabs, two of them have 4 tabs. When the user clicks on the tabs, the content below them changes. However, when the user clicks on the tab (any tab), the browser goes back to the top of the page (I'm assuming it's refreshing, I'm not sure). I'm attaching the JS code below, along with the 2-tab version of the module and its accompanying CSS. Any help will be...

Hi, I've been working on a horizontal drop down menu today, and I can get it to display perfectly in everything bar IE6. Basically instead of them lining up horizontally, they line up vertically instead. And this only happens when I don't give the LI in the menu list and fixed width, which I don't want because if I have a fixed width the menu list get's too long due to some words being longer than others and then it doesn't fit on the...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
