This really is a JavaScript question. I have a site that looks fine in
everything but NN4. I'm afraid I don't have a URL, because the site is
very much unfinished.
The site is a header (which is a table) and a main <div> underneath
that. The main <div> is set to have a top margin of 3%, which works
fine, except in NN4. There, it looks like it has a margin of 20%, or
even larger.
I couldn't fix it with the @import hack, so I thought I...

I have a problem displaying a divbox containing a html-textarea -
everything works fine with "normal" characters. However, when the
textarea contains special chars like <P> or ' , the box fails to show:
function show(divbox)
{
divbox.style.display='';
}
<div id="divbox" style="display:none" >

I'm trying to replace <table>s with <div>s as much as possible.
However, I can't figure out how to do the following…
<table>
<tr>
<td valign="top" width="100%">some data that will 'stretch'</td>
<td valign="top" width="300">some data that won't 'stetch'</td>
</tr>
</table>

Ok, the situation is as follows:
I defined a <DIV> like:
<div id="myid" style="position: absolute; height: 10; width: 10;"><img src="images/object.gif" height=10 width=10></div>
This pane is used to move an object around on the web page by a javascript.
As long as I define no further <div> pane everything works fine.

Here's what I'm trying to achieve:
1. A <div>, centered on screen, 600px wide and 100px high, with a
background-image (also 600 x 100).
2. Text (an <h1> element) positioned with precision inside the <div>, on
the image.
3. A similar result in IE and FF...
Here's some of the XHTML:

I'm sure I've got this working before, but I always forget how to do it,
because CSS isn't intuitive in this case. I got a simple 2 column layout:
<div id="container">
<div id="left">
</div>
<div id="right">
</div>

Hi all
I have a javascript function that drags and drops an element (ie img)
into a container (ie bordered div). The function works and returns the
element and and container.
My next step is to center the element in the container if the user is
sloppy with positioning it.
I can only test this on IE6 and IE5.5 and it fails. It positions the
element too much right and low.
Here is the function:
function SnapToContainer(Container,El) {

I'm trying to create a scrollable text/image area using javascript and css. The found a script which I thought was working properly. The following link contains the script:
http://simplythebest.net/scripts/DHTML_scripts/javascripts/javascript_59.html
I'm having two problems. First, my scrollable image and custom arrows are not moving with the site when the browser is resized. Also, when you scroll down using the custom arrow...the...

Hi all,
I've written code (in REXX) that takes files in legacy languages (PL/I, COBOL, z/OS assembler, etc) and converts them into HTML in a format similar to what's displayed in the z/OS ISPF editor. A fellow member of the PCG has helped me by creating a bit of Javascript to emulate the scrolling and using Google I've now gotten it into a state where it almost passes the W3C Markup Validation Service. However, the one error, Error Line 166,...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
