Rendering problems with Mac Firefox and Layers

Hello all:

I'm having a problem correctly rendering a web page that uses layers to
display a web form on top of a flash object.

The problem is that the layer renders correctly but the scroll bar for
the layer does not, it hides behind the flash object, this only happens
aparently in Mac Firefox, Mac IE doesn't display this behaviour nor
does Safari.

In windows it renders correctly in every browser that I have used
including Opera wich is my trouble shooting browser due to the fact
that it gives the most problems.

Has anyone run across this problem before?

Thanx.

Does the page validate -- both HTML (or XHTML) and CSS --
error-free using the W3C validator tools?

I use Mozilla as my Web browser because I want a browser that
complies with Web standards. See <URL:http://www.mozilla.org/>.

I'm having some problems with css rendering differently on different browsers, on this page: http://www.frostjedi.com/terra/scripts/graemlin.php on both Opera and Firefox, I get spaces between the word "Suggestion", and the actual suggestions, themselves. On Firefox, I get an additional space after the copyright line.

I have no clue why below code (found it somewhere and altered it a wee bit to my needs) will run without problem in both IE and Mozilla FireFox 1.0 but in the latter it takes up close to 100% cpu. It does check for type of browser, and indeed all works fine apart from that ridiculous amount of cpu taken. If you want to see if it does so in your firefox/xp too, it's embedded in my homepage (www.westerterp.com) Can anyone explain why...

I'm trying to use a layer inside a form to hide/reveal a part of the form, but my code doesn't seem to be working and I need some help debugging it. I'm not getting an error which has made it difficult to debug the code, but I am getting the alert ("break 4 in getStyleObject"); which makes me think this is a browser compatability issue (I'm running IE 6.0). Anyway, the code follows function getStyleObject (objectId) { alert ("begin...

Does anyone have any other solutions to the Firefox rendering problems with ASP.NET? I've tried the <browsercaps> web.config trick. It didn't work. Am I overlooking something else? Thanks!

This is what should happen in Firefox - this is in IE: http://www.sacu.com/locations/locate.asp This is the javascript that manupulates the images. It is slightly modified from the IE version. I can get the map images to display, but can not get them positioned properly nor can I move the black rectangle. Here is the code: // CREDITS: // MapBlaster by Urs Dudli and Peter Gehrig // Copyright (c) 2001 Peter Gehrig and Urs Dudli....

Hey all. So I'm having problems with cross browser alignments. I'm looking at Safari and Mozilla Firefox. I develop in Safari and so it looks perfect there however in Firefox my vertical alignments and div widths are off. It's as if firefox has a different definition of a pixel than safari. Here is the url: http://theprize.chemouni.com/testing.php. When you select the Option from the pull down, the first part of the form appears. Then when...

I am using foldoutmenu 3 and am having problems with viewing my menus in firefox. On my sub3 menus i have more than one line of text in some places. firefox does not recognise that there is more than one line and the text simply overlaps the sub-menus below it. I thought i had got around this by placing empty 'spacers' like so; oFoldMenu.make('sub3','')//spacer unfortunately, i have just viewed the site in IExplorer and it has added...

Hi All. I've been formulating in my head a simple image editor. I actually started prototyping is some time ago in Java, but am liking Python more and more. My editor will be nowhere near the level of Gimp/ Photoshop, but I do need fast pixel level control and display. For instance, that means no automatic anti-aliasing and that I will be implementing my own line drawing algorithms. I've got the high level architectual aspects of my...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
