As part of my explorations in liquid design, I'm exploring ways to use the
overflow: hidden property -- when browser windows become too narrow, I want
(some) images to get cropped rather than have the layout break up. In some
cases, losing parts of images can be an interesting option.
http://www.hebig.org/blog/titlepic.php was the first example I found, and
it's quite nifty. His image works well when progressively cropped from the
right,...

Is it proper to center images in a <div> by using the text-align: center
property? Or is there a better way?

I thought I had seen this done on another site but I can't find it. I want
to have a header at the top of the page, centered, no matter the resolution.
I got it working with an ugly scroll bar at the bottom. The image is 1600px
because that is the maximum resolution I want it to work at. Any
suggestions? The site is here:

and the css I used is here:

Hi
I'm having some real trouble with a header I have created within a
container. I have two problems; firstly the menu (a horizontal UL) will not
centre within the surrounding header, despite attempts to use the following
within the #header declaration:
margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto;
The image above the list is easily centred using the 'text-align' property,

I want to center an image on the screen and have text centered over the
image. What's the best way to do this?
I've been playing with style tags and I can get the stuff to center
automatically OR have the text appear on top of the image. But in the
second case, the image and text aren't centered properly.
Any help is appreciated...

1. Horizontal centering a <divin browser window.
The current trend seems to be to place page content in a fixed width area in the middle of the
browser window. How is this achieved? If I use a top level <divthen I can place it with CSS
attribute 'left:', but this is a fixed offset. Is it possible to have a <divcentered in the
browser window?
2. Verticle centering in <div>

I'm playing around with a test page that uses a <div id="main"within
the context of a body with a width of 100% to center a fixed width
field on a page. For some reason, the page is not centering in
Internet Explorer. What's odd is that it works on my site's home page
and most other pages, but not on pages that I am returning from a
particular script. I've stripped out most of the content in an attempt
to sort it out, but after kicking...

CSS newbie again. I have a problem trying to get coffee mug images
within anchor tags to center with my link text for a vertical list
menu. If I use the horizontal/vertical properties of "background" or
"background-image", the positioning only works with specifying
pixels.
If I specify the vertical position in pixels, the image gets cut-off
at the bottom. I don't know what to do and would appreciate anyone's
help. Specifically the code...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
