Malformed page crashes MSIE 6 100% of the time

About a month ago, I've reported a crash bug at a wiki webpage where
developers of MSIE 7 can read feedback from developers. The strange
thing is that a particular malformed webpage can crash MSIE 6 SV1 (on XP
Pro SP2) with all the updates, patches, security patches, etc..
even/despite the latest August 2005. It's been now more than 1 month
that I reported that crash and nothing happened.

Here's my question: Do you crash like I do while viewing that page with
MSIE 6 with all the patches?

The malformed HTML code involve <font> and vertical-align like this:

<div style="vertical-align: top;">
<p>First <font size="4">Paragr aph</p>
<p>Second </font> Paragraph</p>
</div>

Everything was nicely reported and clearly explained in october 2003 and
the bug is still reproducible, 100% of the time.

Page where this bug is explained:

Proof of concept:

Confirmed here too. IE6/Win2K/all patches.

It appears the crash only occurs when IE is in Standards Mode. Did you
notice this too?

I thought this is more of an IE issue but i've had no joy on that group perhaps somebody here will have a clue. If i click a link to a web page embedded in Excel (97 OR 2000) i get the standard error page displayed by IE (you know, the 'cannot find server or dns error' page). Turning off 'show friendly http error messages' alleviates this. (Unfortunately this is the Windows default setting!) Whats going on?!?!

Hello All I tried to embed Excel sheet into HTML page by following command: <iframe src="Tmp.XLS" width="100%" height="500"></iframe> and it works, showing Excel sheet inside the page, but there is no way I can save the Excel sheet after it has been change. The Excel menu is not active and the system is not asking whether I want to save the changes or not.

On most my pages, I use Javascript to play a sound. It works fine in Netscape 4.7, Netscape 7.2, Firefox 1.0, IE5 and IE6 using Windows98 as the operating system. However, using WindowsXP as the operating system, the entire Netscape 7.2 browser and Firefox 1.0 browser shuts down when I try to use the Back button on these pages. Is there some setting in Windows XP that is causing this or is there something I can add to the Javascript to...

We have a page that is loading very slow. There is not a lot of data, not a lot of users are connected at the same time and the page does not produce an error, so I am not sure where to start to look for why it is slowing down. I thought about the DB first and added NOLOCK to a couple of stored procedures that were being run, but with no effect. Can someone offer some tips on where to start looking or how I can begin to diagnose this...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
