XHTML validator giving an error for onMouseOver

Hi,
I am trying to validate my website against XHTML 1.0 transitional.
Unfortunetely it throws up an error because I have used javascript
event onMouseOver
<span onMouseOver="Sw ap_Image(...
.... and it gives me an error saying that there is no onMouseOver
attribute.
Is there any other way of writing this? Cheers

I can't understand the warning I'm getting from the W3C validator. Here it is, along with the source code that it is not fully satisfied with. What meta-tags should I be including? Here is the warning I got from the W3C validator. Note: The HTTP Content-Type header sent by your web browser (unknown) did not contain a "charset" parameter, but the Content-Type was one of the XML text/* sub-types (text/xml). The relevant specification...

It seems that opening a link in a new window isn't considered to be good practise in xhtml 1.1. The w3c validation service does not accept it and I have to downgrade those pages to xhtml/transitional. Does anyone know what the proper solution would be to open a link in a new window if I want all my pages to comply with the xhtml/strict level? I can see the thought behind, I think, but I would argue that there are legitimate reasons for...

I just read some stuff about XHTML 2.0 and it sounds fascinating so I have been trying to create a small test doc which has a few graphics files but whenever I submit it to the W3 validator I get this foolishness about mime type="text/html" and then it tries to validate it using SGML (in liew of XHTML 2.0) rules. Obviously this all fails. Is there anything I can do? = = = = = = = Here's my doc: = = = = = = =

Hello All, Last week (11 Nov 05) with the Subject header: "XHTML 1.0 Strict validation problem", I tried to describe a validation problem with text added to my source files in XHTML. I was asked to publish the code by several members of this group, but hesitated initially as I was not sure my organisation would allow/accept it, however here it is:

How can I make an XHTML-compliant form of an expression in this format: document.write("<scr"+"ipt type='text/javascript' src='path/to/file.js'>"+"</scr"+"ipt>"); this turns out to be a non-trivial exercise. inserting '&lt;' and '&gt;' causes the browser to write the text to the page as literal text rather than as the intended script element. Using escape codes seemed to work (makes it standard compliant) but the text is not written to...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
