show hide layers + scroll probs under Mac

Hi,
I've got some browser compatibility issues with the following page:
http://www.iclc-group.com/hspv1/testi.htm
It's a straightforward show/hide layer layout with images on the left
and linked text on the right. The whole page appears in a large popup
sized to fit. The text overflow and positioning of layers does not
apparently work correctly under IE5 Mac or Safari. On PC all is OK.
Can anyone spot any horribly obvious mistakes I have made in the html?

Thanks very much

Nick

Screws up in Opera 7.54 and FireFox 1pr as well.
Looks like you've coded to some of Win IE's many bugs and all the
better browsers are punishing you for it.

Validate your code and fix all those errors then see which browsers
the problem still crops up in:

Hi,
Thanks Steve for the links.
I've tidied up as best I can:
-doc type now in place (doh!)
-style sheet cleaned up
-body attributes now in css and validates ok ( margin left=0 etc
replaced with margin, padding etc)
-table height removed
-scroll bar colours don't validate but seems OK/ignored depending on
browser
- alt tags now complete
- there is a background image for a table that doesn't validate but
should be OK...

My guess is that the margins and table height were confusing matters.
Crossing fingers for your Mac compatibility!

cheers
Nick

Hi everyone, Hoping there are some .js/browser experts out there that can help with this weird problem. I have made a swap div routine and applied the events to menu buttons with a closer layer behind the menus. The closer div has a lower index than the submenu divs so it appears behind them. The closer div contains a transparent gif with an event applied to it to close all of the divs when moused over.

Hi there, I am trying to create a form with an dynamic field that can be shown or hidden. As I saw for example on google it is possible with JS to show a layer and move the content underneath that layer further down uppon showing this layer. When a person closes that layer the content underneath the layer moves up again and closes the empty space. How is this possible? I am playing around with some code I am posting with this thread....

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
