I have a scenic picture for the background of a page. I would like to make a
table, with an opaque background, over top to hold content, that will still
somewhat show my page background. How do I do this?

I'm sorry you consider helpful advice politely offered to be rude. I
suppose if you were in Washington, DC, and stopped me to ask how to
get onto I-95 South to get to New York, you'd consider me rude if I
told you that you needed to take I-95 *North* if you wanted to get
anywhere near New York. I suppose the courteous thing for me to do
would be to give you the directions to I-95 South and let it be your
problem when you didn't realize your mistake until a hundred miles
later.
As for the *nothing but* rude part, OK, I suppose that even the parts
where I gave you the information you were looking for was sheer
rudeness.

I've read some time ago in this NG, that when you're writing a library
it can be good practice to use an opaque type to point to your
structures if the user doesn't need to modify the structure himself.
This way the internal structure of the lib can be changed, and the lib
can be recompiled, but the application using the lib doesn't need to be
recompiled.

As far as I know if I change the form's opacity, every control on the
form also inherits that opacity. But in many real applications (not
application programs), we see opaque text (100% opacity) on a
traslucent background, for example text messages on TV. Or look at the
title bar text of Aero. Background is translucent but the text is
opaque.
Is it possible to use 100% opaque text on a traslucent form?

With Windows Forms application, just setting the opacity to 0.5 gave
me a 50% opaque normal styled (with the title bar, familiar three
buttons, borders and resizable) window. Did the same thing to a WPF
application, but the window didn't get translucent, instead only the
client area got gray. Then I found I have to set AllowTransparency to
true but then the window style must be set to None to set the
