On the subject of Data Warehouses, Data Cubes & OLAP….
I would like to speak frankly about Data Warehouses, Data Cubes and
OLAP (on-line analytical processing). Has it dawned on anyone else
that these buzz words were created by some geek who decided to take a
stab at marketing? Knowing that to the backwoods manager who knows
little of technology that new innovative names for old concepts would
help to sale their products.
I mean...

Someone in the IIS newsgroup suggest I post this here, so sorry in advance
for the cross posting.
I have a Win 2003 SP1 with IIS 6 and host about 40 websites, most of
them useing ASP/VB with access databases. The server is a Dell Dual 2.4Ghz
XEON with 512Mb Ram.
Every few days I get the error 'HTTP/1.1 New Session Failed' and the server
stops showing the sites. It comes right after a bit and then the error comes
back. I

Hi,
I don't understand why DELL is unwilling to sell AMD64 products. Steve
Felice, VP @ DELl says their is no customers demand for AMD64. Suck to
be Steve. From various Linux flavors to BSD, the OS rocks on AMD64
macs. I have seen conformance test suite benhcmarks which are better on
AMD64 than on f**ing Itanium.
I feel this is a ridiculous policy @ DELL not to sell AMD products.
Anyone in FTC listening ?

I'm having problems with inconsistent floating point behavior
resulting in e.g.
assert( x > 0.0 && putchar('\n') && x == 0.0 );
holding. (Actually, my problem is the dual one where I get
failed assertions for assertions that at first thought ought
to hold, but that's not important.)
At the end is a full program containing the above seemingly

Hello all,
I am working on an application that is basically a bridge between
oscommerce and gallery2 software, with some other functionality.
It will allow users to port all of their media from gallery2 into
oscommrce, complete with rights definitions and watermarking.
I have spent a lot of time on this application, and I am thinking of
selling it as part of a bundled package with creloaded and gallery2.

I was thinking about lerning web application through the creating the site
which will enable the users to upload, download and viewing the 3D models
created in 3DStudio, Maya etc. What do you think about idea ? Does make
sense ? Does something like that exist? Will viewing (zooming, rotating...)
works in web environment? I find with google only 3D viewer applets, but no
signs of web application, or I google with the wrong words ?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
