I have read threads here and there and I have looked at MS but I can not get
a clear understanding of what .Net acutally is. I understand that C++ and Vb
and other languages are being out a .Net. I get some idea that it still is
OOP. I think it has different ways of managing the code. But what is it?
Thanks

First of all, I'm an Asian and I need to input Japanese, Korean and so
on. I've tried many PHP IDEs today, but almost non of them supported
Unicode (UTF-8) file.
I've found that the only Unicode support IDEs are DreamWeaver 8 and
Zend PHP Studio.
DreamWeaver provides full support for Unicode. However, DreamWeaver is
a web editor rather than a PHP IDE. It only supports basic IntelliSense
(or code completion) and doesn't have anything...

Which of the UDB 8.2.2 ESE unix executables really need to
gain root privilege while they are running?
In my installation, the db2sysc file is owned by the instance-owner
(and relevant admin group ownership), but when the db2-instance starts
running (manually started via "su" as the instance-owner),
the db2sysc process requests root access.
I think that db2fmcd also requests root privilege.

HI--what I am trying to do is 2 things:
1. Open a form in either data entry mode or edit mode depending on
what task the user is performing
2. Cancel events tied to fields on the form if I am in edit mode.
The reason I want to do this is becasue when entering a new record the
form is entered in data entry mode and I have lots of stuff happening
upon entering and leaving fields. In edit mode I do not want the
events to fire.

Having developed with VB since 1992, I am now VERY
interested in C#. I've written several applications with
C# and I do enjoy the language.
What C# Needs:
There are a few things that I do believe MSFT should do to
improve C#, however.
I know that in the "Whidbey" release of VS.NET currently

I have a simple DataGrid that displays a list of characteristics and
allows you to edit a description for each characteristic. The query
that feeds this involves a join, as the characteristics and their
descriptions are in separate tables. The DataKeyField of the DataGrid
is set to the description ID, but I also need to be able to access the
characteristic ID in my update query (without displaying it in the
DataGrid). I haven't had much...

I've tried googling for the answer to my question, so my apologies if
it's been asked before or is terribly obvious.
I'm a volunteer doing data entry for research. My office has an Access
database with several hundred fields that was put together by someone
who no longer works here. While using this database, I've noticed that
it's missing a number of fields that we need. I told the Dr. I'm
working for and encouraged her to seek the...

You can find the original author of the script by ggling " Py2Exe version 6.3 setup" The cool thing about this is that it calls py2exe, just in case you're uncomfortable with the command line. I had to search hi and lo for the example of how to exclude Tkinter. Coming soon: scipy includes and numpy include that gets rid of complaints of missing modules that are fantom errors.

Using Visual Studio 2005 and C#, is there a way to create a single file
executable out of my project?
We have made database tools that our employees use out on the manufacturing
floor, and the executables are located on a central server.
Our IT guy wants our executables to be contained in a single file like they
were back when they used VB6, but .NET doesn't like this very well. He keeps
copying the executables (after extracting them...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
