microsoft auto backup feature stopped backing up.

1 New Member
I have been using the Microsoft word backup feature for about 1 year and it always made a backup copy of any file . Starting in January 07 ,the backup stopped. I just recently noticed this and have been trying to find out a solution.
I have auto back up checked in the appropriate box ,but a backup copy is not made.
thanks for your input

Hi, Is there any way of telling if a database or table has been updated, altered or deleted from since the last backup was made in SQL server. Windows does not correctly report .mdf file size changes until a database is brought offline so it seems impossible to work on physical file size changes as reported in windows. Ive done some research in this group and people have talked about a status bit which is set in sysfiles. This does...

I have been developing a client backup utility for my company to backup key data off a client's machine (i.e. My Documents, Cookies, Favorites, etc.) I am backing the data up to a SQL Server database using "chunking" via UPDATETEXT, etc. To cut down on backup time, I log, along with the file itself, it's last write time so when the next backup is run, only files that have been changed since the last

I just brought a new small server online. It has two disks in RAID1 (mirrored) for the operating system and logs and DB2 DBMS. DB2 data on a separate RAID 5EE array on four disks. (IBM ServeRAID 6i controller.) I don't expect more than 200 GB total data ever in the DB2 database (starting with 120 MB), and 150 GB in other stuff. Want to backup the database separately, and then everything else. Now that DB2 has a backup utility that...

I have no experience with DB2 as such, but I've been tasked with configuring backup of a server running DB2 v8 on Windows Server 2003. I do have some experience with backups in general though. The backup software I'll be using is Backup Exec 10, but Backup Exec doesn't have a specific agent for DB2, as it does for SQL and Oracle. The supplier of Backup Exec claims I can use the Open File option of Backup Exec to backup DB2. I find this a...

How safe is it to back up a single user mdb when it is opened. No tables are opened at the time of the backup. The only object that is open is the form from which the backup code is being run. Thanks in advance, john

Hi, I have a DB2 database (version 7) running on Windows 2000 server and recently facing problem to backup my database. I got an error "Disk was full" after half way running the backup. My database size is about 10GB, I have tried to backup the database into a DDS tape (20GB) or hardisk (100GB free space) but still getting the same error. So, there is no possibility that the backup media is full. Anyway, here's part of db2diag.log file...

I’m backing up my BE from within Access; although the filesize is relatively modest (15Mb) for this day and age it can take 3 or 4 minutes for the backup to be completed. There’s nothing I can do about that, it’s a network issue beyond my control. My problem is that Access is semi-suspended whilst the backup takes place; I say semi-suspended because if the user goes into another windows app e.g. explorer, word etc, and then back into access, the...

The importance of backups can never be emphasized enough. In Vista Ultimate and Windows Server 2008, there is a built in feature to take care of backups called Windows Complete PC Backup and Restore. It can be found by: Start >> All Programs >> Maintenance >> Backup and Restore Center Backing Up Your Data and PC Backup my files If you only want to back up your important files and data, Backup and Restore Center gives you this option.

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
