Is there a Linux PHP module so that I can process web cam video with
Linux PHP from multiple USB ports? (I'm working on a video surveillance
idea since I found out that my office spent a whopping $30K on their 8
camera system and were told it would cost $13K for 3 more cameras to be
added. If that inspires you to do your own system, please do so -- I
love it when people can make big cash with Linux!)
For discussions here, realize that...

Hello,
I am researching ideas for a long term project and am currently
investigating Java's capability for processing live video feed.
I wish to examine digital video feed in real time and do such operations
as:
i) Define all pixels as either foreground or background (depending on
whether they have the same colour as the predefined background).

Nowadays when you obtain the SDK form java.com
you get a new interactive programming environemt
much like the Borland C++ IDE.
Up to now I've been developing applications "the old way"
using the operating system command line method.
that is, javac MyApp.java
Then my computer at home crashed and I decided to install the
JDK on my office computer. This was when I got the new

I have some problems using the video extender for DB2 in Java. All
examples and libraries are C++ only. Is there a way to use the
extender and its API's in Java and if so...are there anywhere some
examples? I just need a point from where I can start...
Thanks!

I just recently watched the "High Tech Home" streaming video on the
Microsoft: At Home web site and was just wondering what kind of software was
used to do all that home automation. More specifically, in the kitchen there
was software that worked with barcodes to keep the kitchen inventory and
recipes. Even more importantly, it was all voice controlled. Can anyone let
me know what that was? Is is something we can expect from Microsoft...

I've got a jar file that I'm loading with Java's Web Start. When I load the
..jnlp file from a browser, the application installs and runs properly the
first time. If I close the application and click on the link in the browser
a second time, the Web Start splash screen loads for 15-20 seconds and
disappears without launching the app. If I delete the application from the
Web Start utility it will again download and execute the first time...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
