get info from server

1 New Member
I am accessing a book database server with personal password, via a http site. When I want to request info for some books, I need to enter the ISBN or title of the first book on the the text box , click on submit, have the info on the html page, the do the same thing for the second book, the third and so on.
I want to automate the process through code (vb6 or php), accessing the site with my password and sending requested data and collecting returned info into a file for exemple, getting rid if possible of displaying the html stuff at each access to server.

Any help truly appreciated.

Hi All, Q: Is it possible for a thread on SocketServer.ThreadingTCPServer to get the socket info of *other* open thread/s and use that info to send data to the accepting client? I wrote a socketserver using SocketServer.ThreadingTCPServer. A client is connected to the server and expects multiple request/responses. (Not sure about the terminology but the client connects and then stay connected for a while.)

Hi, Currently im storing the connection info. in XML file on the C drive. the only problem with this is that anybody can open and check the database name. I know encryption can solve this problem but still im concerned whether this is the right place to store connection info as in earlier project that was in C++, we use to store the connection info. in registry but the problem with this approach is that your application becomes windows...

Hi, how can I send information that is in the Response.OutputStream to the client but continue server processing without having to close the page , or without having to Reponse.End() the application ? I tried Response.OutputStream.Flush(); but it doesn't seem to work, only when I follow it with a Reponse.End() , but that's then gonna stop the server processing what is what I don't want. Here's my problem : in a button-event handler

Hello everyone, This is my first attempt at getting help in this manner. Please forgive me if this is an inappropriate request. I suddenly find myself in urgent need of instruction on how to communicate with a MySQL database table on a web server, from inside of my company's Access-VBA application. I know VBA pretty well but have never before needed to do this HTTP/XML/MySQL type functions.

I'm sorry if this is a rehash, but all I see is the same info. Here's my debacle: I CAN get the PATH_INFO to work. With ANYTHING but ASP. Python, Perl, Cmd files... works fine. ASP can't find a file when extra path information is added. Is there a switch in ASP or something I can change that'll get it to work? Thanks!

I have searched high and low (and even in some places I'd like to forget I ever saw) for the information that will tell me exactly how the Nat2Nat server for UltraVNC works (not just a vague diagram, but the code needed - at least psuedocode - to connect the 2 clients) . (You can see it at http://www.uvnc.com/addons/nat2nat.html.) I get the diagram and all, but how exactly would you get 2 UDP connections to your UDP server to start...

I'm looking for a safe and maintainable way to store connection string info (connecting to SQL Server 2005 from .NET 2.0 Windows Forms client app); things like server name or IP address and database name. I need to provide the client application with this info for connecting to both a test SQL Server and a production server. I would prefer to NOT hard-code this info into the client application, and App.Config seems rather unsafe as the...

I would like to be able to move my ASP.NET applications to any of a number of servers without changing code. My apps do a lot of disk I/O and in some cases I might be specifying absoute drive mappings for whatever bad reason. This will break if apps are arbitrarily copied around. I imagine I could centralize a bunch of configurations in web.config. If my apps could reliably (and efficiently) identify what server they were running off...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
