Display date on website without accessing user computer?

1 New Member
Hi there,

I was wondering if it's possible to display today's date on a website without accessing the visitor's computer? Internet Explorer gives me a warning that the site is trying to access my computer, so obviously I don't want my visitors to come across the same problem.

I have no idea where to start and could really use some help with it! Thanks in advance!

A small piece of server side script would do the job for instance in php

<?php echo date( "%r"); ?>

should do the trick. You may wish to change the %r to format the time to your own specification.

Of course this will be the server time and if the server is no in the same timezone as the user the time will be wrong.

I had to restore my server from backup. When I did, I could no longer access any asp pages on my web server. The error says HTTP 500 Internal Server Error. I have turned off friendly HTTP error messages and it gives me less info. All it says is server application error. html or htm pages work fine. I have reinstalled com+ so that I can now access the components services snap-in.

Let's say you provide an online service from 7:00AM to 6:00PM Eastern Time (daylight time in the summer). Is there way of showing these hours of availability on a web page in the user's local time? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi. I am at a loss to decipher why the javascript on my web page: http://www.psych.nmsu.edu/~jkroger/lab/index.html does not display the date correctly in Firefox. Instead of "2005" for the year, it displays "105" ... however, in IE Explorer, it looks fine. Thanks for any help, Jim

Hello guys, I want to do kinda of an A/B split testing on a website I run. I just created a new version but I need to keep both version running and see which one will perform better. First, I'm not sure if I'm in the right group. How can I randomly let a user enter from the index.php page and keep the same URL. So the splitting is being done in the backend, I don't want the users to see for example in the url /new/index.php and /...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
