I know this site is for developers only, but what are the chances with getting a Fortan and a MatLab section started? I am using these more and more often in my research, and I am sure more people would be able to benifit from this awesome community of programmers.

It would be an immense joy to post the project you have helped complete. I needed to figure out a way to post an exe file here for all to see. I can't seem to find the proper location. Can you help?
There may be a good reason for this, one I am not aware of, if so, please advise.
Thanks for your help.

I use a PowerBookG4-Mac OSX-Firefox. Whenever someone tries to IM me while I'm using Jdate, I get a download screen that asks me what to do with the file. The file is SessionKeepAlive.ASPX. If I hit "open," it opens Dreamweaver. If I hit "save," it downloads to the desktop. I should just get a pop-up that says "do you accept or reject?" I...

What you have to implement
You have a message that can be sent on a port. Before sending the message you have to encode the
message to ASCII or Unicode as hexadecimal. Sending the message over the network as a continuous
string stream is quite simple. The recipient simply has to decode the hexadecimal string and will know
what the message is....

I'm not sure if this falls within the scope of these boards or not, but it seems to bear on development, so I'll see what folks think.
I've got a website that I'm developing of which the centerpiece is a rare and very hard to find public document of interest to historians of WWII. My issue is how best to present it on the site. I want to...

students are facing many troubles when they want to learn the new technology
by thier own . but it will be very efficient when compared to learning from others.
self paced learning will be more powerful than the other and it shows its effects only when they becomes masters in that field. is it right?

Hi all.
A friend was impressed with TheScripts and asked me to ask whether anyone knows of anything equivalent for people having trouble with woodwork.
Not exactly "woodwork" I suppose. Not sure of the right term, he's having trouble with a home handyman project, mounting a shelf. Something to do with screws and the wood being too hard? If...

We are currently collecting info on some 18,000 people every month on paper forms. This data is then entered into an Acess database. This is taking far to long, and the data entry is very inaccurate, so we are thinking of redesigning the paper forms to allow them to be scanned in and some sort of OCR software will analyse the scanned image and...

Hola, I would like to read a text file containing a version number from within a batchfile and then compare that value with a Version Number in the batchfile.
If the two are different, the rest of the batchfile would run, otherwise it would close.
Hope someone can help
