Help needed inserting Flash Drop Down menu on aspx page

19 New Member
I have created my flash menu, complete with drop down boxes. Published the file so that i can get the html code. But when i try to get the drop downs to work, you can see them. So i make the object taller and i then can see them, but that leaves a big area that is blank. Is there a way to over come this? (this may be a flash forum question)

This really isn't an ASP.NET question. The problem you're having either has to do with the style/properties of the element or it has to do with the Flash Drop Down Menu you've created....

Would you move it to the flash forum then?

Before I moved it...is the space being caused by the Flash Object or is it being caused by your style?

Please post your asp code and any css styles you're using that may effect the Flash Object so we can see if it's a style problem.

i think its because of the flash object. When i shrink up the stage, you can see the drop downs. I don't want a huge space between my menu and my websites content.

The two buttons that have drop downs are Careers and Dr Finder.

Drop-down menus are the hottest thing since Wonder Bread but . . . 1. Alot of people put them in the they-look-nice-but-you-cant-code-them-right-so-they-always-look-messed-up category (a la "frames"). Do you think this is true> 2. Some people think they take up too much KB. 3. Some people are worried that people who have javascript turned off wont be able to see them. What percent of web users have javascrips turned off? I thought it was...

Hey, I just noticed a little quirk in two different javascript drop-down menus on two different sites: On each site, the part of the menu that expands gets hidden behind flash objects on the page. Here's an example:

Hello there, I've a drop down menu (created using CSS & Javascript -- see code below). My problem is, whenever I click a link on the menu the new page replaces the current page (and the menu disappears). Is there a way, I can keep the menu always on top. ( A good example of what I'm looking for is similar to the menu bar in http://www.milonic.com/ ).

Hi, I am using asp.net Menu component to create a horizontal drop-down menu. Generally if when use DHTML menus like http://www.twinhelix.com/dhtml/popupmenu/, if you are embed a flash or shockwave object just below the menu then the drop-down menu goes behind the Flash Or shockwave object. I was hoping to may be asp.net menu component will behave differently but I noticed that it doesn’t. Am I doing something wrong with the asp.net...

Whe the user hovers over the drop down menu, the listbox hides the botto options on the menu. However, the menu also overlaps the place wher the datagrid is, but the datagrid does not hide the menu - the men appears over the datagrid as...

I'm taking my first stab at using xml, so please bear with my novice questions and understanding of xml. I'm trying to create an xml file that holds all my website navigation. If I understand correctly, I can use xslt to create different menus from the xml file. What I'm trying to accomplish is to create a top menu bar, left navigation menu bar and sub header navigation bar. Then place the transformed xslt menus into user controls...

I have got a basic drop down menu written using CSS (complete with moving highlight & functioning dropdown where needed) but I have a couple of problems. 1. The original (non-dropdown) menu was based in a table so the widths of the columns could be amended per column and they grew as the browser window grew and the entire menu width could be set to be exactly the same width as the banner heading (100% table width). I've now started to...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
