listbox hiding drop down menu

I have a menu written in javascript. I include that menu on an asp
page. The aspx page contains both a listbox and a datagrid. There i
one drop down menu that overlaps the place where the listbox is. Whe
the user hovers over the drop down menu, the listbox hides the botto
options on the menu. However, the menu also overlaps the place wher
the datagrid is, but the datagrid does not hide the menu - the men
appears over the datagrid as it should. Any idea how to make th
listbox work this way, too? When the menu is displayed, it shoul
always be fore front.

Thanks in advance

I beleive that is an issue with the browser renderer.

I am not sure there is a workaround. I would love to be corrected though?

the usual workaround is to hide the dropdown when the menu is opened. you
could render the menu in its own <iframe> which is the only object that will
render ontop of a dropdown.

Drop-down menus are the hottest thing since Wonder Bread but . . . 1. Alot of people put them in the they-look-nice-but-you-cant-code-them-right-so-they-always-look-messed-up category (a la "frames"). Do you think this is true> 2. Some people think they take up too much KB. 3. Some people are worried that people who have javascript turned off wont be able to see them. What percent of web users have javascrips turned off? Hi, I have set up an external stylesheet, named "print.css", to format the style of all pages printed from my company's website. I've been previewing my changes to the stylesheet by doing File\Print Preview in IE6 and noticed that occasionally the leftmost button of the javascript menu (CoolMenus Version 3.02) on our website is printed. (I have wrapped the javascript that generates this menu in a DIV so that it is concealed from...

I've implemented the horizontal drop down menu discussed recently in this newsgroup, and it works nicely under Galeon and Mozilla, but not IE 5.0. Here are the problems: Under IE 5.0, the there is no drop down menu functionality at all. I wanted to implement an alternative stylesheet for IE, but my link to it is apparently broken. What is wrong with my link? I'd

Hello there, I've a drop down menu (created using CSS & Javascript -- see code below). My problem is, whenever I click a link on the menu the new page replaces the current page (and the menu disappears). Is there a way, I can keep the menu always on top. ( A good example of what I'm looking for is similar to the menu bar in http://www.milonic.com/ ).

I have an javascript made menu and some forms with the dropdown element. When the menu opens and scrolls down the drop down is displeyed over the menu and obscures the menu choices. I have this problem only in IE, in firefox it works ok. Is there a solution to this problem? I tried to hide the drop down when the menu opens but sometimes the menu covers only a small part of the drop down, but enough to obscure the menu choice. I would...

If you look at explorer, right clicking on a file, first selects the file, then throws up the context menu relating to that selection. With a Windows ListBox control and a simple context menu, the default behaviour seems to display the context menu on the listbox, but there is no selection. Now I know that explorer's using a listview, and that the context menu acts differently if you click on open space (no selection), but can I...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
