Loading images into flash via external text file

1 New Member
Hi, thanks for reading and helping me first of all.

Now to the question..
I need to load external images into a scrolling slideshow (its like a sliding rotating banner) flash file using an external text file. I think I may have the concept down, I'm just not good in coming up with my own script.

I was thinking to use the loader component because for the sliding to work, I have to set the images (5 of them) next to each other so every few seconds, the next image will slide into place (ex: http://www.leedsworld. com at the mid bottom).

Can anyone help me go through this from the text file to the actionscript to use for the loading of the flash. Also is there a way to associate a link for when you are on that active image, you can click the image to go to the link in the text file.

I was thinking for the text file, something like this:

bannerAfile = 'rotatingbanner .jpg'
bannerAlink = '/flashredirect.a sp?type=banner1 '
bannerBfile = 'rotatingbanner 2.jpg'
bannerBlink = '/flashredirect.a sp?type=banner2 '
..and so on..

Any help would be great, thanks

Ok... I am having problems getting variables/values INTO Flash from an external source (PHP). I'm NOT having problems getting loadVariablesNum() to _SEND_ variables via POST, but I _AM_ having difficulty reading back into Flash local variables. Hi, I want to load an external javascript file, get its results and stick them inside a <div> block. I also want to do this in several places on a web page. This way the browser doesn't have to wait for the external resource to load to show up the page, thus giving a perceiving faster load time for the user.

This may be a strange question from a non-technical person who asked me to make his whole site and images load all at once. I.e. the completely loaded site would show up immediately even with a big background image. I explained that images are taking longer to load because of the size than anything else but this person insists on the request....

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
