Hello,
Sorry to be bringing up what seems to be a somewhat beaten up topic...
This is what I wanted to do:
Create a _simple_ text editor widget which supports VI(M) style
keybindings but works with arbitrary fonts/unicode characters. Vi(m)
unfortunately, does not support Devanagari (or proportional fonts) and
it looks like it will take quite some time for these things to work. As

I have searched and searched and searched...
Can someone please tell me how (or "if" it is even possible) to change
selected text in a textarea?
Specifically, say a user has highlighted "ppl" of the word "apple",
using a mouse. Is there a way to have the (usally blue) highlight
expand to the character to the left and right of the original
highlight, which is to say, highlight the entire word?

I have a form where the user enters the Model info. The user picks
the Model from either a combobox or listbox which both are filled from
the Models table. If the Model type isn't in the boxes, then the user
can click a button and add a new Model to the Models table. When the
user clicks the "Add new Model" button, a pop-up Form opens the user
types in the new Model name into a text box and a new record is added
to the Models table and...

Firstly, how the heck does this guy do it? Writing reams of (awesome)
code, debugging, responding to Newsgroups etc., all while commanding
the ridiculous price of FREE?!?!?! More power to him!
I'm hoping to use the Highlight Current Row functionality from the
FormatbyCriteriaSubClass database. My problem is that the highlight is
not scrolling. Selection rows works like a charm but the highlight
doesn't move when I scroll.
I am using...

My textBox comes on with all the text selected. Setting "hide
selection" to "true" or using SelectedText or SelectedTextLength
will not stop the highlighting. How do I get rid of the text pre-
selection when the display comes on?

Many thanks,
Patrick.

I have the following code but I can't get the selected text to
highlight correctly. What happens is all the text after the selected
text is red. I need to add that after the selected text is
highlighted, I append more text to the box (I'm working through an xml
doc & highlight based on attributes as I go along).
Any help appreciated. thanks...charlie

Hi,
I have a datagrid which contains 3 columns. Two of them are Bound Column
types and the third one is Button Column. When I click on one of the rows in
that Button Column, I would like to highlight that row. I have already set
the SelectedItemStyle property in the designer But I am knowing when it will
work. It is not highlighting the row. If I highlight the row inside the
datagrid1_ItemCommand event using e.Item.BackColor =...

Ok, I know it's been asked a million times, but I have a more specific
question so hopefully this won't be just the same old post. I've tried a
few different editors, and I really like UltraEdit, but it's
Windows-only and I'm working more on Linux nowadays.
Here are my criteria:
1. syntax highlighting (highly customizable)
2. auto/smart indenting
3. ability to run script

Hi,
I'm using two menu controls. One is displayed at the top of the page. The
other menu is displayed on the left side using a single site map. The top
menu is for displaying level 1. The left menu is for displaying level 2.
These are all displaying just fine. That is when a menu item is selected on
the top, left menu reflects the submenu for the selected item. The only
problem I'm having is to get the top menu to have a highlighted...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
