Hello,
I installed mysql server 4.1 last month. When I installed it, I set it
to run as a service to start automatically. However, for some reason,
that no longer occurs. I can't even see the mysql service running from
services viewer in win xp. I now have to manually start mysql server
each time I reboot.
Can someone please tell me how I can Re-set mysql to run as a
service?? Or, if I re-install mysql, will it retain the db's already...

Using VS 2003, VB. Net, MSDE...
Usining task sheduler, I wish to mute the volume in the .bat file that task
scheduler runs (windows XP Pro). I don't see anyway to do this via a .bat
line command (if there is, please let me know).
So the next option would be to write a small .net program that would do it
and run that via task scheduler. How would you mute the volume in code in
the vb.net program? I'm not quire sure where to get...

Can .net managed code (preferably VB) be used to temporarily mute the system
sound? If not, what are the APIs? I have had limited success in finding
this information thru msdn or google searches.

Hi,
I'm using PHP 4.4.4 on Apache 2 on Fedora Core 5. PHP was installed
using Apache's apxs and the php library was installed to
/usr/local/php. However, when I set my "error_reporting" setting to be
"E_ALL", notices are still not getting reported. The perms on my file
are 664, with owner root and group root. The php.ini file is located
at /usr/local/lib/php/php.ini. Any ideas why the setting does not seem
to be having an effect? ...

Hi there,
I am implementing a mute button on my application which successfully
changes the mute status of the mixer in windows. I would like to know
if there is a way to detect the mixer being muted from outside the app
(by the user or another program), so I can display this in my own app.
Is there some windows message which is broadcast when a mixer is muted?

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
