Hi sumaiya!
I think this belongs to the JavaScript / Ajax forum.
Anyways, I think there's no way to do that, you'll have to do the old hidden iframe trick, it can be consider Ajax, but without using the xmlhttpreques object / XMLHTTML activex object.

Best regards,

Hi, Looking for recommendations for a decent API for AJAX work. I need it to be somewhat documented so I can figure out how to actually use it. My most critical need right now is clean code for a "triple" chained selector (state->county->city). Jason

I just noticed that prototype.js is one of the files in the Ajax.NET distribution - I'm pretty concerned about this. Does anyone know if this is the same "prototype.js" that is not well-liked around here? If so, do you know if Ajax.NET can be used without prototype.js? -- "The most convoluted explanation that fits all of the made-up facts is the most likely to be believed by conspiracy theorists. Say I want to make a chat system on my website...If i'm doing really involved Comet push-style data communication, and rendering everything using DHTML, why would users prefer that over a java applet? Moreover, say I use a java applet to transfer data through a socket connection, then use DHTML to display the data, so...

I've now been looking for a week for a simple but useful sample on how to get a list of entries (persons) via an XMLHttpRequest using Json/PHP on the server. So far I've found about a thousend different tutorials and code samples but not a single one, where the server returns an array of entries. Very few samples use Json at all and almost none show the server code. So does anybody know a sample which - uses just a small javascript...

I am looking for a clean solution to a problem that I solved in, what I call, a "dirty" way. Here is what I want to do. I have a dropdown list. Clicking on an item in the dropdown list invokes an AJAX call that gets data which populates the entire lower part of my screen. It does this with an innerHTML for the div tag that holds all of this. This works fine. I also have an "Edit" button that I want to show next to dropdown list,...

Hello, with ASP.NET 2.0 Ajax every unexpected error is managed client-side with a popup that reports the error to the user. In ASP.NET 3.5 this behavor has been changed: how can I have a similar behavor? I'd like that every exception raised from ASP.NET runtime during an asyncpostback is managed in client side with a popup that reports the error message. thanks

I have run into a situation that if a page/tab that uses the Ajax toolkit (using .net version 3.5) is closed before the Ajax enable controls complete loading, then IE locks up. Does it in both IE7 and IE8. There is no issue when the controls are allowed to complete loading. Can you please tell me the best practice that handles this? Thanks.

After enabling the script error reporting of the mobile IE, it pops up several JScript error and the ajax behavior is not funtional at all. Where can I look for any possible issue? Thanks.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
