Hi all, I'm working on the schema for a database that must represent data about stock & bond funds over time. My connundrum is that, for any of several dimension fields, including the fund name itself, the dimension may be represented in different ways over time, and may split or combine from one period to the next. When querying from the database for an arbitrary time period, I need the data to be rolled up to the smallest extent...

Hi, I'm trying to use the following code (found online - can't remember where) to validate images being uploaded to my server: function checkImageUpload (fileName) { if (document.layers && location.protocol.toLowerCase() != 'file:' && navigator.javaEnabled()){ netscape.security.PrivilegeManager.enablePrivilege('UniversalFileRead'); }

Hi everybody The output of my multiple dimension array is quite confusing. Im declaring an array, store some values in it and then I save the array in a session variable. On an other page I store the data of the session in a new multiple dimension array. All data are saved correctly in the array of the 1st page. But in the new array of the 2nd page there is only one entry. Does anybody knows

Hi, I'm using a homebrew, lightweight version of SIunits, the physical dimension checker. For example I define types such as m (meters), s (seconds) and mps (meters per second) in namespace SI and I have all the overloadings of operator* such as SI::m operator* (SI::s, SI::mps) { ... }

Hi, I am new to C++. I want to directly create a dynamic two-dimension double array, i.e. double pp. I found the "new" is only for one-dimension array, i.e. double *p = new p. How to "new" a two-dimension array? Is the only way to create a class? In java, I can easily create a two-dimension array by "double pp = new double". But, how to do it in C++?

Hi, This is probably a classic scenario with a shared dimension that we need to use in different cubes, where all fact tables do not offer the same level of detail. Dimension is snow-flaked. The cube that's causing me troubles was designed by marking the lowest dimension level Diabled and not Visible. This allows me to get rid of one of the snow-flake tables (the one with the lowest level), thus allowing an INNER JOIN with the...

I am planning to load large XML files into relational tables using the dxxShredXML stored procedure. There is a major limitation on the size of the files, and I read on this group that this can be solved by creating a new stored procedure. However, there was also a question of dimension limitations (error at 12MB). Does that refer to the number of side tables and the amount of data that can be stored there? Does anyone know if there is...

Hi! I'm writing an application that receives data from internet. I usually receive big files, few hundred MB to Gb and the packets I receive could be not in a correct order. I though I could send a packet that specify the lenght of the file before any other packet. The receiver creates this file, with the specified dimension and then using ofstream's write and seekp I would write the packets in the correct position. My problem is, how...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
