Macromedia Flash questions

Hi there;;;
im begnning macromedia fdlash. but i don't know how to draw and i can't understand the flash and how can i make a simple flash and what am i going tio used just like a simple picture where can i animate this and how it will animate???
what is the layers and what is the timeline???

will you give me an example and step by step procedure on how to make a flash???

for example i had a picture how can i download and put it on flash..... and how it will animate???

there is a sticky in the Flash/Actionscipt forum with numerous links to different flash/actionscript tutorials and how-to's.
please consult those links, you will find that many of them are very helpful.
you can also search Google for Flash tutorials and i guarantee that you will find all that your heart desires

first of all select a layer.
now go to " File" in the upper bar
then go to " Import"
the " browse" your picture where your picture is now in your computer
now you can insert you picture in the flash
