Upgrade for DB2 7.2 Workgroup edition?

sea
I have DB2 7.2 Workgroup edition -- I do not see a Workgroup edition
in version 8.1 -- what edition of 8.1 should I use to have a smooth
upgrade without having to unistall 7.2 and then reinstall?

Thank you very much!

Check with DB2 UDB V8.1 EXPRESS EDITION
-- what edition of 8.1 should I use to have a smooth
upgrade without having to unistall 7.2 and then reinstall?

Workgroup and DB2 Express are both available in v8.1. The 8.1
announcement letter is here:

http://www-3.ibm.com/fcgi-bin/common...um=ENUS202-214

Express is described in a May/2003 announcement.

V8 comes in two and a half flavors.
1) DB2 V8 Workgroup Server Edition, known as WSE
2) DB2 V8 Entreprise Server Edition, known as ESE
That edition has a feature known Partition Database Facility (the ½),
which allows you to partition the db and its tablespaces on
logical/physiucal nodes in one or more boxes.

You might also read the following article from DB2 Developer Domain,
it explains the differences between the various licensing options:

I know that on DB2 V8.2 (on Linux) it wasn't possible to "upgrade" without reinstalling. But on V9.1, can I initially install Workgroup, and then if we need additional functionality can we buy Enterprise and apply the keys to an existing Workgroup installation ? Or do we need to reinstall ? I know you can't upgrade Express-C to a...

Hi hi everyone. We have upgraded our DB2 LUW 8.2.1 which was directly installed from our DB2 CD's to DB2 LUW 8.2.6 (FP13). (system: HP DL385 (AMD64), single socket, dual core. 8GB memory. SLES 10. NetApp FAS250 storage array). This went quite well, but it rendered our permanent (legal) DB2 license invalid, and I can see of no way to get...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows.
