Windows Admin Rights for IBM DB2 Client?

1 New Member
Hello,

The DBA's installed the IBM DB2 Client 9.1 on several Windows XP computers. The people, which needs this Program, has non andministrativ rights on their Client computer.

The problem:
If those people start the "Configurat ion Assistant" it crashs with no error message.
Users with admin rights can start this program on the same computer.

So what must I configure to start it without workstation-admin rights?

Thanks for your help

Ok, so maybe this is way off the wall...and I realize this is more of a MS Windows question than an Access question, but here goes... Is there a way to grant an Access application itself admin rights when the user is not a local admin on the client machine? An issue comes up when using Outlook automation that if the user is not the local admin then the automation code fails. Thanks, lq

I created an extremely simple windows service that only writes to the EventLogs on Stop and Pause. I installed it using the InstallUtil.exe program, the output of which is below. It appears to be successful. I'm now ready to start my service (I think) but the NET START command does not appear to indicate that the service is available to be run. The output for NET START is below as well. The Services list in the W2K administrator...

Hello, We use the Debug View from sysinternals for BizTalk development and testing. The remote feature is very useful since you can login to any server and see the debugging statements. Unfortunately this requires administrative rights. Its the stated policy of my client not to allow admin rights, and because of this we cant use the debug view for the testers. It is slowing them down.

Dear all, I built a Web Form application to start and stop a Windows Service remotely. I successful tested the application on Windows 2000 server + IIS. I must include the ASPNET user to the Administration group (on server side) to have the necessary authorization to start a Windows Service (I don't understand why "Power User" rights are not enough to do the same thing) Although I'm able to start a service using windows 2000 server...

I have this elusive problem that I can't seem to get my fingers on. This is the senario: I am working at a client's site (am a developer) and they have assigned me this nice little HP-Compaq machine that am using. The have a domain with a proxy, and stuff. I have pretty elevated domain rights, admin and all. I can(should) browse the internet normally without any problems. Now here's the problem.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies.
