Hi,
A few points to confirm as I am still new with DB2.
1. What will happen if archive logging is used, however there is no
userexit or manual process to move those online archived logs to
another directory. At this moment my LOGPRIMARY is set to 3. Will the
logging hang?
2. Does LOGSECOND apply to circular logging only? If if use archive

I have recently begun to migrate our DB2 UDB v7.2 enterprise databases
up to DB2 UDB v8.2.
One question I can't seem to understand is why would I want to run an
offline backup for a database now that the online backup includes the
necessary log files.
Is there a reason why I would need or want to go through the hassle of
getting exclusive control of a db for an offline backup?

I am a little confused about the archive parameters work together. We
currently have LOGRETAIN=RECOVERY and LOGARCHMETH1=USEREXIT.
It appears that the logarchmeth1 can be set to DISK:<path>. Does this
mean that we can use DISK (rather than USEREXIT) and replace the <path>
to our existing archive log path, set USEREXIT OFF and db2 will
automatically copy files to this directory?
Thanks for any help.

Hi, there have been loads of posts about this problem on loads of forums and
I have tried everything suggested (except the stuff I’m not comfortable with
like deleting drivers and reg. edits).
I have an HP Pavilion dv2130ea laptop computer with XP media edition and sp2.
I have had lots of automatic updates recently.
When I boot my computer, everything is fine.

Hello,
I hope this doesn't come across as totally newbieish, but I've been
searching the web and the IBM docs until smoke is coming out of my head.
Scenario: We are trying to take primitive "snapshots" of our production
database into a test environment by taking (what we thought are) offline
backups of production, then doing a redirected restore into test.
Here's the steps I do:

Hi,
we have an application which uses online backups, so archive logging
is a requirement. We have a small/moderate size database (a few
hundred megabytes isn't much by today's standards) with relatively low
insert/update activity (a few thousand per day).
How should I set up archive logging (number of primary and secondary
logs files, size of each log file)?

I have a db is in archive mod (LOGRETAIN = RECOVERY) and logprimary is set to 3. Pat the log file is / arch_log. If I go in that path i have:
S0000000.LOG
S0000001.LOG
S0000002.LOG
S0000003.LOG
S0000004.LOG
S0000005.LOG
S0000006.LOG
But the active logs are only S0000004.LOG S0000005.LOG S0000006.LOG (db cfg >>> First active log file S0000004.LOG) ?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
