Hi all.
I am a vc++ programmer. I have been working in this area for about three
years.
My present question is what's the position of C++/CLI under the .NET ?
You know that the VC++ once was the most powerful IDE of MS, but when the
..NET release
everything was changed. And now I plane to lear .NET and move all my
projects to .NET,

When I build a C# class and install it in the GAC, my code works as it
should, my .aspx code finds the DLL and can run a static method:
<%@ Assembly Name="AutoCoder, Culture=neutral,
Version=1.0.1922.22245, PublicKeyToken=0a4067d718757385" %>
<%@ Import Namespace="AutoCoder" %>
Trace.Write( "AutoCoder", AutoCoder.Common.GetConnectionString( )) ;
But I cant locate the assembly in its directory using the src=
property.

I'm confused by documentation and examples on using Delegate to create
Events for use with COM
In some situation I see a parameter list of (sender as Object, e as
EventArgs) and other times I see no parameters, or a list of parameters that
are event dependent.
Below is my .NET code to create a class which raises some events.
From C++ (using MFC 6.0) I create an instance of the object and
IConnectionPointContainer which seems to work.

Hello, I am new to this group; if my question is OT then please
excuse me and tell me where to go.
I am using MS Visual C++ with some of its graphics libraries.
Now the compiler tells me that one of the member functions
that I am trying to use is not a member of that class.
The sad irony is that when I type the name of an object
of that class, followed by a dot, the IDE helpfully displays

I've been programming a bit in PHP and then recently learnt classic
ASP for projects at work, now I'm working on another project that they
want done in .net. I've got my head around web parts, that wasnt as
complicated as I thought it would be.
Now I want to create a web part, that connects and uses our database
to show data depending on what user it is.
I know theres the dataview controls and all that, but I dont want to
display all...

I've always been taught that stored procedures are better than writing SQL
in client code for a number of reasons:
- runs faster as is compiled and lives on the database server
- is the more proper tier to put it since is a data function
But then I've heard that writing SQL in my client .NET code might run just
as fast? Dynamic SQL or something?
And then there's LINQ on the horizon. Is it a successor to everything

Hello,
Using DB2 8.2 FP 9 - 32bit on Solaris 5.8 and a tape management tool
of Veritas, the archive hangs on occassion. The error is "shmat
failed" in the db2diag.log. Then DB2 hangs and self corrects.
This seems to occur when a backup kicks off, initiating an archive.
But only on occassion.
Our intent is to upgrade but that may take months. This should be

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
