I know that DB2 LUW version 8 has "connection pooling" that provides a
connection concentrator (limits the number of simultaneous connections
that can occur). But does it really provide connection reuse in the
same manner provided by DB2 Connect or Websphere (or some 3rd party
connection interfaces)?
If DB2 V8 does have connection reuse, does the built-in DB2 connection
pooling require extra jdbc coding, and is it as robust as DB2...

I'm using the connection concentrator with db2 v8.2 on AIX 52 with
this configuration:
max_connections = 4000
maxagents = max_coordagents = num_poolagents = 600
num_initagents = 100
maxcagents = max_coordagents
intra_parallel = yes, but default degree is 1

Hi,any one know ,in DRDA enviroment DB27.1 running in ZOS/E,I find when
apllication program access DB2 through DB2connect ,in mainframe two address
space TCPIP and DIST CPU usage were very high ,and DBM1 or MSTR address are
low,one sample maybe 15%(tcpip),10%(DIST),1%(DBM1),we are 100% DRDA
envirnoment,I don't know is it normally?
Do anyone has experience on this area?Hope can help me,thanks

Here's the layout: AIX v5.2, DB2 v8 fp8 running in 64bit
I've got a Multi-partitioned db running on lpar4 and I want to
connect it to 2 instances running on lpar13. We'll deal with just
1 instance on lpar13 for now.
lpar4 -> db name dwdb
lpar13 -> db name IBMEDGE
On lpar13, I have a userid that has DBADMIN authority.

Sorry to repeat myself if this is the same question I asked in the past, but
I have finally made a connection to our AS400 through ODBC. I tried to get
the connection using the data connection wizard and the OLE DB connection,
but I was getting a winsock error. Is there a better way for me to connect?
ODBC seems to be slow and cumbersome.
Thanks for the information and any tips on using .NET with AS400 would be
appreciated.

I have run into a performance problem with db2 v9. When the connection
concentrator is turned on then
performance is significantly reduced. I did some simple insert tests,
75 records inserted into a table with 50 Varchar(20) and 4 CLOBs. The
results were as follows:
Connection Concentrator on db2 v8.2 ~1s
Connection concentrator off db2 v8.2 ~1s
Connection Contentrator on db2 v9.1 ~8s
