The 2003 product line, had the standard editions, you could only work with
one single language, but, ASP.NET AND windows forms development was possible,
and it wasn't that dumbed down.
The price for a std edition: around 100$
Sadly, there isn't a true successor to those editions in the 2005 product
line. There is a standard edition, but it costs 300$, although it supports
now more than one language.

Hi
I have a DB2 v8.1 on AIX and DB2 Connect EE on Solaris wich is connected to
OS/390 DB2 subsystems via APPC / SNA. I have cataloged the DB2 Connect
instance as tcpip node and then the Host DB cataloged on that node...this
works from v7.2 Fixpack 11 clients and servers, but with v8.1 server I get
SQL1334N.
Does anyone has an idea?
Thanks

My main dev machine has WinXp and VS2005 (pro).
1. I need to install VWD Express Edition so that I can do some instruction
on this. Any issues with both on the same machine. Installation order?
2. Does VWD Express Edition support the idea of Solutions? I coun't figure
out how to create a blank solution which I usually do with VS2005 (and then
add my web site to the solution.)

Through Java, I am attempting to connect to a MySQL 4.12 server on a remote
computer. I can connect fine via php. I cann connect fine via Java, through
a servlet, when the servlet is on the same machine (localhost) as the MySQL
DB.
However, when they are on different machines with different IPs, calling
across the Internet (and there are no firewall issues -- I can connect fine
to the remote MySQL DB via php from the same machine, not...

Don't know if there is a simple solution for this one or not. When
running SQL server on a machine with 2000 loaded and the complete SQL
package I don't have any issues. Now I'm trying to login using my XP
machine with MSSQL developer edition, and I can not connect to my
remote servers via TCP/IP. It can see the server, and it establishes a
connection, but I can't access my files, and the connection seems
incredibly slow. I have checked my...

I searched this group with key word ORA-12145, and got 0 hits.
I posted this question yesterday in the oracle group. I thought over
this issue, and I think people here may have come across similar
problems.
I am working on a ASP.NET 2.0 web application for IIS 6.0, the backend
database for my web application is Oracle 10.1.0.2.0.
This database resides on Machine A.

Hello,
Server configuration:
Windows 2003 Server SP2
SQL Server 2000 SP4
..NET v2.0.50727
just built up a new server using the same configuration as my current
one. I even used the same CDs and registration keys, so I'm certain that
the two machines are as similar as they can be.

http://www.microsoft.com/express/download/
I've just seen the ad and the download page.
1) what are you missing if you use these as opposed to full version of
Visual Studio?
2) can you install all the express editions on the same computer?
I mostly do wsh scripting and I'm assuming the vb edition will support this

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
