data clustering.

Hello all,

My bulk data is sitting on a big table. I cluster its rows using views
and SQL-UDFs. So far it was ok, but its performance will become an
issue soon. Therefore I am looking for alternatives.

Any recommendation will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

What is the need for the clustering? what do you get from it.

You may want to look at MDC (multi-dimension clustering) or table
partitioning which are two ways to do this.

I am assuming you are running on DB2 LUW (Linux, Unix and Windows).

If you mean 'blobs' by 'bulk data' you could store your blob data in
files and just put the pointer to the file in your table. Haven't used
this myself but I know DB2 UDB supports this kind of data.

Hi everybody, I don't know how to initialize the weight vector of each node in the tree. The input is a set of N data in M dimensions. I have to realize a software based on the article "S-TREE: self organizing trees for data clustering and online vector quantization", Marcos M.Campos, Gail A.Carpenter,2000. Thanks

I have a 2 node Microsoft 2000 cluster with a shared storage device. I want to create automatic failover for MS SQL 2000 server. I can do that wit the following options: 1. Active/Pasive (one instance installed) 2. Active/Active (More then one instance/virtual sql servers installed) I have a question about option 2.

Hi: I'm trying to setup a MS Cluster but I don't know if it is feasible to configure it in the way I think. I have two machines with win2k server and MSSQL-2000 one of them is currently performing as the production database and the other one is the backup. The secondary one is keeping updated via the "Log Shipping" technic.

Hi all: I have a clustering SQL Server on Node1 and Node2, the Node1 has named Instance1 and Node2 has named Instance2, no default instance. We tested it that everthing is OK, then we decide to move to DR location. The relocation kept the same virtual and phusical server name, and we did not change SQL Server server network utility. But server IP addresses were changed(vitual and physical). We can start the clustering SQL Server as...

HI, We had some data which had low cardinality (86) , the count for that table is 9 million rows. How to optimize query which involve joining this table on that column? I'm not sure if dynamic bitmap Index Anding would help ....but how to let DB2 use it?

Hi, I am currently in the process of gathering info/experiences for an incoming Linux DB2 clustering phase we actually know nothing about (since we are doing it for the first time ever), so I would really appreciate if you could share some of your experience here or recommend some additional websites/literature aside from IBM Developerworks - specifically, if there are some caveats or things to look out for during the process, etc....

Hi, Does anybody know of a software package that allows for several servers, running asp.net 2.0 to be clustered, regardless of where they are located (ie. without a hardware load balancer). This way one could link two or more dedicated servers, perhaps even running on different hosts. Does something like this exist? Thank you for your time!

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
