I am unable to see the health monitor SQL table functions (e.g.: SQLPROC.HEALTH_CONT_HI). Have I missed a utility which registers the functions? DB2 8.1.3.132 WR21324. Another point about the health monitor - when I get notification messages all they say is that a particular instance/db has a warning or alarm. I have to open the health centre to see what the actual warning / alarm is. I would much prefer if the email had at least a...

Are there any issues with the Health Monitor in a partitioned environment? I have turned on the health monitor and can obtain the health snapshot for the DBM via the following command: get health snapshot for dbm But I can't seem to get any info regarding the database itself. I tried the following commands:

i am trying to use the db2 health monitor alert to run a script. i set up the health monitor to run a script when the tablespace utailization is too high. in the end, the script should send a syslog message. for now, i am just trying to figure out what message db2 is sending, by printing out the parameters db2 is sending. set up: Indicator Name = ts.ts_util Default = No

I am trying to use a script to take some action when DB2 issues health alerts. To find out what message the health monitor is sending to the script, I wrote a sdcript which would just write the message to a file. Here are some example messages: db.log_fs_util 0 unknown db.log_fs_util 38 unknown db.log_util 0 unknown db.log_util . 99 alarm

Hello All! I have been thinking about this quite a bit recently, and was wondering if my stereotypes are founded on truth or just stereotypical assumptions about programmers and health. It's not uncommon to hear about a programmer spending a 18 - 24 hour stint sitting in front of a computer coding away. I remember hearing about how harmful CRT monitors are with extended exposure, and was wondering if LCD monitors pose that same...

Hi, I am coding a mysql health check script. The logic is to execute the commands (only once)show status, show slave status, show variables and fetch the variable name and value in a hash refer or any other fetch machanism and dynamically use the values to do calculation like the following threhold values($uptime > 10800) && (Handler_read_rnd_next > 4000) && ((100-(((Handler_read_rnd_next + Handler_read_rnd) / (##Handler_read_rnd_next +...

I have opened a PMR for this with IBM, and am not asking for advice from the DB2 DBA community. I am posting this as an FYI that DB2 Health Monitor, even at the latest version of DB2, still can cause huge problems with slow connect times and heavy resource locking in high concurrency / high transaction volume environments. I have an OLTP with 30-90 transactions per second activity, and start of Health Monitor every 2 hours was crashing our...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
