DB2 Connectivity problem from a wndows client to DB2 AS/390 server

hi all,

I have a DB2 connect PE ver 8.2 installed in my windows client which
tries to connect to AS/390 Database Instance via CCA.It uses TCP/IP.

While trying to connect the Server from the windows client

SQL30081N A communication error has been detected. Communication
protocol being used: "TCP/IP". Communication API being used:
"SOCKETS". Location where the error was detected: "192.168.134.20 1".
Communication function detecting the error: "connect". Protocol
specific error code(s): "10060", "*", "*". SQLSTATE=08001

My windows is running DB2 Connect ver 8.2
Mainframe is running IBM UDB ver 7.1

What cause this error and how do i resolve this?
Note:here my ports are open from either side

TIA

First check with your OS390 DBA's and check to see if they have setup
the required TCPIP entries for mainframe connects with in DB2 on OS390.

If so get the Location name and port number.

I have developed a VB application that uses Oracle 8i database for backend. The database server is on the local network. From my development machine, the application connects (via ODBC) to the database successfully. The problem is that I want to install this application on several Windows 2000 client machines that do not have Oracle client installed (hence missing all the ODBC connectivity support files/drivers). What is the minimum...

I have a 500-MB full installation CD for SQL Server 2000. All I need is to install "Client Connectivity" component (about 272K) on a bunch of workstations for users across the nation. How do I reduce the installation file size, by eliminating most of the unwanted files? Thanks.

This one should be an easy one for the community. What sort of PC client software do I need for connectivity to a DB2 database? It appears DB2 Connect is special for PC/Unix Connectivity to Mainframe DB2. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
