Anyone using Enterprise compiler co-processor (PL/I or COBOL) ???

We're running into a _big_ problem with the embedded co-processor for
both COBOL and PL/I ... we can't get either compiler to recognize the
VERSION option, which means that all DBRMs get created with a null
string version. I find it hard to believe that we're the first
installation to run across this problem, but I'm pretty sure that
we're very near current maintenance levels. Is anyone else out there
using the new compilers with DB/2, and are you using the co-processor,
and have you been able to generate DBRMs with VERSION(AUTO)?

Responses eagerly anticipated ...

Yes.

No. I have opened a requirement though (quite some time ago). Why don't you
do the same, and perhaps we'll get some attention?

I was able to find some closed APARs that specifically address this
issue. I have a contact whose DB/2 and compiler maintenance is totally
current, and he confirms that VERSION(AUTO) works. I've opened an
internal ticket to get the maintenance applied locally, so I haven't
been able to try it myself yet.

The PTFs of interest are:
COBOL: PQ74775
DB2: UQ78877
PLI: PQ87807

Hope this helps.

Hi, I was using enterprise manager to generate a script for my DB. I scripted only my tables and views and in Options I picked all the options EXCEPT "script Primary Keys, Foreign Keys and Constraits " ( which I was going to script seperately ). I noticed that the the generated file still had all FKs and PKs scripted. When I additionally unchecked the "script Full-Text indexes" option, it worked as expected. Any idea why the full-text...

Has anyone tried to compile Python (on Windows) using the Digital Mars compiler? If so, can you give some hints how you did it? Or ... can anyone suggest an approach to compiling from the ground up using a compiler that isn't mentioned in the thicket of #ifdefs? Where to start? What to look out for? -- rzed

I want to output the stuff computed using the compiler using template metaprogrms (not at runtime but compile time). An easy example is to output the set of fibonacii numbers at compile time instead of run time. (using maybe error messages/ warnings...? Any other way except the output code generated). Anyone knows if this is possible to do in g++? In general c++?

Hello, I've started using Enterprise Library 2.0 recently and I've encountered a problem that seems to be ... well... undocumented :) Basically, when I set a Trace Listener (formatted event log to be precise), if i specify the name of a custom event log, the listener won't log in it. I've checked in the registry, the log is there. In the event viewer, I

I do not want users to creat DSNs, they should be able to connect any mdb file to application by updating configuration file. Best Regards Burki

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
