How to kill running procedures.

Can any one give me some pointers on how to kill a running procedure
in DB2? I have a long running procedure called from a Java routine and
after I kill the Java routine, the procedure keeps running and the
only way to kill this procedure is to restart the DB2 instance.

Any pointers would be helpful.

And you have an operating system in mind?

Unix perhaps? How about kill -9.

This would work only for a FENCED procedure. Any unfenced procedure
(like SQL Procedures) run in the agent process.. Kill that you loose at
least yoru connection.
Micky, how do you kill the Java routine?

Cheers

My application starts up a number of processes for various purposes using: self.popen = popen2.Popen3("/usr/local/bin/python -O "myscript.py") and then shuts them down when appropriate with os.kill(self.popen.pid, signal.SIGTERM) Everything works fine on MacOSX. However, I'm doing a port to Solaris (so I can run it on my web site) and find that the child processes are not stopping! Solaris is creating TWO new processes: one for the SHELL...

I'm running a monitoring script under linux written in python. It's nohup'ed so that I can log out and it will continue running happily and so on, but sometimes I need to kill the script before editing the source and relaunching it. Question is, what's the nicest way to kill the python process under linux? Is a simple 'kill ' the nicest way to do it, or is there a different signal I should send it? ta alex

Greetings Pythonists; I have limited experience with threaded apps and plenty with old style forked heavyweight multi-processing apps. Using Python 2.3.3 on a Redhat 7.x machine. Wondering if there is a simple way from a main python program to kill a running thread? I see with the 'threading' module the way daemonic threads behave when the main program finishes.

I am trying to write a program that will fork a process, and execute the given task... the catch is that if it runs too long, I want to clean it up. this seemed pretty straight forward with a single executable being run from the fork. The problem I am having now is that if I call a shell scripts, then lets say calls "xterm &", after the timeout has occurred, I kill the shell script, but the xterm is still running... I cannot seem to kill...

What permissions must a user have to be able to succesffuly execute a Process.Kill? I can run it with Admin privleges but not with regular user priveleges - I get an "Access is Denied." The client should be able to run our software was a regular user, so what additional permission must I grant that user for this to work? thanks!

Ho to kill a page? When calling my .NET 2.0 DLL from a page, I pass a reference to the page in the NEW: MyDLL = new MyClass(Page,Context) New Sets a global Variable that is then referenced in various procedures in MyClass. Along the processing, I figured out, that MyClass lost the reference to the Page.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
