Fifty Thousand Foot View needed for DB2 audit capabilities

My background is Sybase adn MS SQLServer, so I apologize in advance if
I use the wrong terminology (please correct that too!)

We have an initiative under way to "turn auditing on" for our DB2
servers.

Guess who has the job of defining what that means.....

What I'm looking for is a couple of URLs to webpages that specify what
the settings possible are and their impact upon the system logs.

The intent is not to cover the row-X-column-Y got changed, but general
security issues such as attempted access, insufficient permissions
(insert when not granted insert/update), that sort of thing.

Thanks in advance!

If you do a search in Google on: DB2 and Audit, it will lead to:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infoce...n/t0005687.htm

This is a good overview with sample output.
HTH, Pierre.

I developed some simple ASP 3.0 pages to add some operative functionality to my app. I configured IIS to use windows integrate authentication for this pages and it's working just fine. For security reasons (audit) I need to trace down the username that requested this page. I already have a custom service called from ASP page that trace down some data I need. It's there a way to find out what is the windows username that requested the...

Hello. I tried to implement audit trail, by making an audit trail table with the following fileds: TableName,FieldName,OldValue,NewValue,UpdateDate, type,UserName. Triggers on each table were set to do the job and everything was fine except that in the audit trail you couldn't know which row exacltly was updated/inserted/deleted...Therefore I introduced 3 additional columnes (RowMark1, RowMark2, RowMark3) which should identify the...

We're going to be enabling the audit facility on some of our DB2 servers in the future, and I need some basic information on how large I can expect the log to grow. I've already been warning NOT to enable everything as a single event can generate multiple BIG records that will swamp the system. Going over the requirementat and our access standards, here's the list of the items we neet to monitor, broken down by the categories:...

Thanks to Serge and MarkB for recent tips and suggestions. Ive rolled together a few stored procedures to assist with creating audit triggers automagically. Hope someone finds this as useful as I've found it educational. Note: - I build this for use in a JDEdwards OneWorld environment. I'm not sure how generic others find it but it should be fairly generic. - I use a C stored procedure GETJOBNAME to get some extra audit data,

We have a simple database which stores employee audit results. Many audits are done on each employee. I have a table with int_AuditNumber, txt_Name, and txt_Score. The txt_Score field shows the result of the audit and can only be "Correct", or "Error". I have a corresponding report that summarizes how each empoyee is doing. It shows employee's name, and calculates (via the count function) the # of audits with "No Error" for that...

Hi All, How do I add a List Box to a dynamic Details View. I want to replace the check boxes with list boxes. If I try to simply replace the check box with a list box it complains about not being able to convert it to a datacontrol field. Below is a portion of my current code behind. By the way I tried doing dynamic templates and was not able to get it to work. Please help, this is driving me nuts. Thanks

I am using an MS Access 2002 database to track user login information. I have copied Allen Browne's audit log and removed the references to the error handling. So far, on all of my forms (for 7 tables), the 'Inserts' are recorded in the audit tables, but Deletes are not recored and when records are changed, the "Edit To" shows in the audit table, but there is no "Edit From" and "Delete" entries show up only in the Temp table.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
