Audit Report - Calculation needed

We have a simple database which stores employee audit results. Many
audits are done on each employee. I have a table with int_AuditNumber ,
txt_Name, and txt_Score. The txt_Score field shows the result of the
audit and can only be "Correct", or "Error".

I have a corresponding report that summarizes how each empoyee is
doing. It shows employee's name, and calculates (via the count
function) the # of audits with "No Error" for that person, and then
Number of audits with "Error" for that person.

What I need to do is to calculate each employee's error rate. For
example if we've done 20 audits on Joe Smith, and he has only 1 error,
then his error rate is 5%.

In plain language my calulation would say "Count Number of records for
this person which are 'Correct', and divde by the total count for that
person.

Can someone please steer me in the right direction. I'm new to Access
and often confused about whether I should be calculating something in a
query, or if I can do it in a report.

Thanks,
Jason

Hi, Is it possible for one to program one's pages as such that when a database table is updated over the web, via a form, that an e-mail confirmation is sent to a specified address, notifying the update has taken place? If so is there a tutorial out there that is easy to understand and implement? Thanks so much

Hi I am developing an ASP application which will interact with a SQL database. A requirement of the application is that there is a full audit trail of any modifications to data. I am struggling a bit to get my head round how to do this - just the concept.

We're going to be enabling the audit facility on some of our DB2 servers in the future, and I need some basic information on how large I can expect the log to grow. I've already been warning NOT to enable everything as a single event can generate multiple BIG records that will swamp the system. Going over the requirementat and our access standards, here's the list of the items we neet to monitor, broken down by the categories:...

Hello, I have a situation in which each record on a report has 40 fields, any one of which can contain a value of 'C', or 'I', or 'B'. I need to create one calculated field on the report that will COUNT the number of fields with a value of 'C'(and shows the integer result), and another calculation that will take the COUNT of the fields with a value of 'C' and divide that by the total number of fields. The second calculation would be...

Thanks in advance for any help. I have a database that was created in Access 2000. Several users have been upgraded to Access 2003. Since upgrading to 2003 we have noticed that some of the calculated fields are not being populated. The database is a samll invoicing database on the form and report we have columns call Unit Cost. This is the actual cost of the part and is pulled from our parts master table and is displayed in a sub form...

I have a report that's fairly simple, page headers and footers, detail has a subreport in (can vary in length). The customer wanted a signature block for them, their client and 3rd party. This was no problem, couple of boxes and labels in the report footer. Now customer wants this signature block on the foot of page 1 (stoopid IMO as that implies people read page 1 where at the end implies they read past page 1 at least). Anyway to...

Hello, I have been assigned the task to design the audit trail for the ASP.NET web application. I don't know what the best practices for such audit trails are. Our application one dedicated user name and password to perform the database operations. I need to capture all the operations which are performed on the database. Also I need to able to capture the operations which directly performed on the backend directly using the tools like...

Is there a way to force access to wait a specified time before making a calculation? On my report there is a subreport with a number of calculation on it. One if which is a count of certain records using a text control with a running sum. When I display the subreport on my main report, I can see the correct count but when I make a reference to that control on the main report, I simply get the number 1. I am sure that the reference to the...

I've implemented Allen Browne's Audit Log and it works quite well (thanks). However, my form has a series of calculated fields that fire on the form OnCurrent event. The calculation causes a record to written to the Audit Log. This means that a log entry is created even if users are only scrolling through the records. Is there a way to block a log entry if the only form change is an auto calculation? Thanks in advance.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
